why u create fkn threads of scrubs in the spurs section?
Lack of effort, playing for bad coaches, legal problems, playing for bad franchises. I'd say that summarizes a lot of the problems Arenas faces.
Yulp
Arenas banging too much hoes, while Tony's banging classy ladies in moderation -teammates wife not withstanding, that's why.
He's had major procedures on his knee and his explosiveness was why he was so good 6 years ago. That's gone now.
Arenas was a "superstar" on a mediocre to bad Washington Wizards team.
Parker was a "star" on an elite, championship winning, San Antonio Spurs team.
Arenas got the acclaim because he was afforded the opportunity to be a chucker and put up great individual numbers. In the end though his team never won anything though.
another stupid thread. go away.
Cuz he's not a gunner anymore
2 or 3 major surgeries will do that to you. He missed almost an entire season a couple years back.
A somewhat shorter career than another "superstar" Alan Iverson who had many of the same issues but could chuck the ball into the basket with the best of them.
There was a great discussion on NBA-TV among the retired stars and vets like Shaq, Kenny Smith, Barkley, Steve Smith, Chris Weber and Steve Kerr about why some players were true stars and some never lived up to their potential, like Arenas.
All agreed that injuries could play a part although many of them and players they cited had come back from injuries and re-adjusted their games in order to continue to play. [Ref. Antonio McDyess.]
However, the most mentioned characteristic was simply "dedication" to the game and to improving their own game all the time. Players who rest on their sheer physical ability or shooting talent, have mental issues and burn the candle at both ends tend to burn out early without long distinguished careers.
Why ginobili fan sucks so much ?
Why so many random threads during playoff time?
:lol @ people actually responding his stupid question.
This is so true. Although guys like Tony and Manu will have their reward when they get to the HoF, I think it's kind of unfair that the average NBA fan will remember them just as role players on a championship team when they are much more than that.
Does anyone here really think that Tony or Manu wouldn't be able to put at least 25 ppg while chucking 20 shots?
:lol
dude is shot to shit
shullup
Look at the careers of guys who play above the rim and those that play below. JKidd is still in the league, for fucks sake. Arenas' explosiveness was his undoing.
Arenas obviously had as much ability as anybody, but lacked a basic understanding of what was required to win games. He had carried a chip on his shoulder because he had slipped to the second round of the draft, which certainly motivated him to play hard, but he always placed the greatest priority on showing what he could do and if the team happened to win, well that was okay, too.
