I find it funny that the only guy from Gonzaga who happens to be a Hall of Famer doesn't have a ring, but role players like Turiaf and benchwarmers like Morrison do.
Should be a relatively inexpensive big, but doesn't quite stretch the floor.
If the Spurs can get him moving Bonner/Blair in the process so much the better.

Ronny Turiaf will not pick up option with Heat & will become an unrestricted free agent according to agent Mark Bartelstein
I find the move odd. Not sure how big the market for a purely energy guy is, then again the window to make money is pretty damn small I guess.
Why not a fourth French? He can block a few shots and has good energy. For the minimum, I wouldn't be opposed. You gotta think he'd be interested in joining his countrymen . . .
Another guy from Gonzaga who got a ring riding the pine... though at least he contributed in a few playoff games.
Tbh he'd be an upgrade at the 4 over Bonner (only good for shooting 3s and getting boards) and Blair (undersized, has no jumper).
Probably the most logical choice if we are talking about a big for the minimum.
IMO, the most likely proven big to sign with the Spurs for the minimum.
Turiaf is a very close friend of Diaw and Parker. If he is fine with being a deep end of the bench player, then he would be a fine signing.
I'd be fine with him if we miss out on a guy like Kenyon Martin....
Fuck it. Let's just sign the whole damn French NT.
Get him and Noah.
And the French NT Coach to be our assistant coach.
Trade for Seraphin too.
Florent Pietrus will be our starter at PF. Smallball!
He could actually get minutes as a taller Blair.
he only clanks in the playoffs... :lol
Plus he brings that championship experience with him. . .
I'm ok not signing him.
This team desperately needed a 5th big this last season. Cruising through another regular season with only 4 bigs, with several emergency bigman signings from Austin along the way, is not the right model to follow. Sign him for the minimum as insurance and incorporate him where it makes sense.
Is Turiaf playing for the FNT in the Olympics?
Was a non-factor though as the huge frontline of the Gasol bros/Ibaka dominated the paint.
This guy is D league material.
