Re: 2012 Olympics: Spurs Focus
I can't believe my Dominican Republic team lost because Ike Diogu hit three dagger three-pointers. In 3,000 minutes in the NBA, he has made one three-pointer. :rolleyes
Spurs Focus: Ike Diogu was on the Spurs last season for those of you who blinked.

He reminded me of Zach Randolph vs Spurs circa April 2011

Re: 2012 Olympics: Spurs Focus
Today at 3:15pm CST, Spain/France. Parker will play very few minutes (lack of conditioning) but Diaw and De Colo should get plenty of playing time.
-
Re: 2012 Olympics: Spurs Focus
Diaw gonna have a hard time if the Gasol bros are in
-
Re: 2012 Olympics: Spurs Focus
Yeah, France will likely lost to day and it could even be a blowout. They are without Batum and Parker will play something like 10 minutes. Noah won't play with them this year.
-
Re: 2012 Olympics: Spurs Focus
Bruno, what time (in Europe) do they play today? Do you have any streams?
-
Re: 2012 Olympics: Spurs Focus
Team Argentina will be playing the following friendlies in Spain pre-Olympic competition:
July 20th: vs Team USA
July 22th: vs Team Spain

Aside of the classic websites with illegal streams, the Spanish TV channel should stream it on his website:

Re: 2012 Olympics: Spurs Focus
Cool. I'm really looking forward to seeing what TP, Manu, Diaw, and De Colo do in Olympic play....

Re: 2012 Olympics: Spurs Focus
Mills and De Colo are the two I want to see play the most. Unfortunately they are in different Groups.

Re: 2012 Olympics: Spurs Focus
well with Ibaka playing, we can see if De Colo can attack the paint with a shotblocker of his level roaming.

Thank you guys for links!

well De Colo goes to the rim for a layup, and gets blocked by Ibaka...

Re: 2012 Olympics: Spurs Focus
Nice to see 3 guys from Spurs roster in the starting lineup, actually.
-
Re: 2012 Olympics: Spurs Focus
That was a nice shot by Parker.

Re: 2012 Olympics: Spurs Focus
Not a good first stint for De Colo. Didnt look anything like an NBA player

Re: 2012 Olympics: Spurs Focus
The ball just won't go in for France.
Plus, in my opinion, too many turnovers so far.
Will Parker again sit whole game?

Mahinmi isnt on the team this year. As for Pietrus, I think I saw him earlier in the game.
-
Re: 2012 Olympics: Spurs Focus
Depends which Pietrus you meant...
-
Re: 2012 Olympics: Spurs Focus
Diogu getting burned by that big white guy from OKC who never plays is still fresh in my mind.

MP had knee surgery after the season ended.

Re: 2012 Olympics: Spurs Focus
I think Ian hasn't got a contract (but Collet and Parker don't like him). And Mike Pietrus is not the welcome (not a Parker's friend).

Damn. That was quite the prayer sent up by De Colo!
-
Re: 2012 Olympics: Spurs Focus
Spurs system for Nando > 2+1 lol
-
Re: 2012 Olympics: Spurs Focus
Nando with an AND-1 3 point play.
His shot almost looked look like a pass
-
Re: 2012 Olympics: Spurs Focus
turnover by Nando
shit pass by Nando
uh oh. Hope he shows some better PG skills soon
-
Re: 2012 Olympics: Spurs Focus
Gasol and Diawara going at it!!!
-
Re: 2012 Olympics: Spurs Focus
Things are getting a bit chippy. Curious to see if it continues...
-
Re: 2012 Olympics: Spurs Focus
Damn, France is getting killed now.
-
Re: 2012 Olympics: Spurs Focus
oh god, Nando de colo might not be our answer for backup PG.
His ball handling and security looks iffy as fuck if Calderon is able to poke it out all the time
-
Re: 2012 Olympics: Spurs Focus
-
Re: 2012 Olympics: Spurs Focus
Spain should, and probably will be the United States' toughest competition at the Olympics. Even without Rubio, they still have a good PG in Calderon running the show...

Spain can't run with the USA team

Yeah, and the only way they can compete is if their perimeter players duplicate their "game of my life" performance in the 08 gold medal game.

Re: 2012 Olympics: Spurs Focus
Nando with 13 points, 3-6 on 3-Pt FGs. He could learn to move without the ball better. Maybe Manu can help him with that. Pop will likely demand it.
-
Re: 2012 Olympics: Spurs Focus
Spain was so much better than France without Parker and Batum that the game was quite boring. The 16 points win could have easily been a 25 points win if France wasn't hitting their 3 pointer. Parker can't really play right now after having done nothing for one month. Diaw was invisible. De Colo has alternate the good and the bad.

Go speak to all those countries that have had their team murdered by Carlos 'LeBron James when playing for Puerto Rico' Arroyo. :lol
That guy straight balls when playing in international competition.

Ibaka with zero field goals?

That was the mvp of the tournament (super four)
there was no mvp of the game but he's right. Splitter was the best player today, specially in the 4th quarter. he just owned scola & co till scola found an injury to leave the court :) (I kid! he injured his ankle, irrc.)
-
Re: 2012 Olympics: Spurs Focus
btw, huertas was the guy that made thiago (outside of his top D) the spain league Finals MVP. His pick and roll with splitter is a joy to watch.
And he just owned Ricky Rubio in the finals. Then rubio left to the nba, huertas replaced him in barcelona and huertas led barcelona to the spanish title again!
He's a fantastic PG but, not that great defensively, tho.

France beat Bilorussia 84-64 today.
Parker is feeling better. He played 34 minutes and has 17 points and 12 assists.
De Colo was solid with 13 points.
Diaw didn't play because of insurance issues.

Yep. It was a damn fun game to watch.
Pau Gasol and Navarro are just damn great players.
It sucks that Navarro didn't like the NBA. It would have been great to see him playing in a better competition than Euroleague/Spanish competition.
Pau Gasol is wasting his career playing with Lakers, a team that uses him so poorly. Maybe the addition of Nash will change that. If it doesn't, a trade would be the best for him.
