I always wondered why Navarro didn't pan out.

Regarding Spurs players in that game, it wasn't good.
Parker was obviously tired and he still isn't in good shape.
De Colo had a couple a great assists but he couldn't hit a jump shot. He wasn't aggressive enough with the ball in his hands.
Diaw has an average game but like the rest of French bigs, he suffered a lot on the boards and defensively against Spain even without Marc Gasol.

USA vs Brazil tonight at 7 PM CT on ESPN2.
Can splitter ever post up on a smaller defender again? Someone tell him it's not the NBA playoffs and he might actually be able to.

Tied! at half.
Australia - Spain tied at 35 at halftime
Great game so far. Mills looks good from 3 and finding the open shooter.
Mills has 10 pts at the half
Australia - Spain rematch right now. Patty off to a good start, 7 points in the 1. quarter and Australia is up 19-18.
What happened in first Spain vs. Aus?
mills seems to have mastered the airball floater.
Very close game throughout until Spain went on a big run in the fourth quarter:

Patty with a very quiet 2nd quarter. I don't think he scored any points. Spain is definitely paying more attention to him in their pick and roll coverage.
This Australian team might not be the most talented out there but they are very disciplined and have some good size in the front court.
Spain won 81-75. Mills was fine.
I've been impressed with the quality of basketball Australia played. Brett Brown is their coach so he surely deserves some props. Promoting brown as the second assistant coach behind Bud would work with me.
Very similar to the first game Spain just pulls away late in the 4th. Australia just seem to be relying too much on outside shots, they hardly get any easy points around the rim.
Patty finished with 15 points (not 100% sure about that) and showed that he can still shoot the ball and run the pick and roll. Just like the rest of the team he struggled to get in the paint and finish over the Gasol/Ibaka. Defensively he was not much of a factor letting Calderon score quite a bit, although some of the shots he made were pretty well contested.
It's going to be a very interesting battle for the backup point guard position between Mills, Joseph and De Colo.
Every time I see Joe Ingles run the court/dribble/shoot, he reminds me a lot of Toni Kukoc (both are lefties).
These videos fallowing FNT are great (if you speak french). They are well made funny and interesting. The funniest in this one is Boris Diaw betting that he can pass a rider. We will see if he can do it, but I have some doubts...
Little tidbit with Chris Paul giving Patty Mills a little bit of praise :tu
Quote:
"Patty wasn't in the NBA in '08 and he did an unbelievable job then and he's an even better player now," Paul said of the Aussie asset at the San Antonio Spurs.
"He's a different player with the national team than he is in the NBA. With the national team, he gets to get loose, get going and be the player that he is."
