Even Parker was on both sides selling Diaw to the Spurs and the Spurs to Diaw.
Instead, the Spurs mysteriously pass on Scola and signed Oberto, who supposedly Manu really, really wanted . . .
I question how much Manu participates in off court activities during the offseason. Just doesn't seem like the person who gets involved with that kind of stuff.

Re: Scola to be Amenstied (OFFICIAL)
Scola would make a good backup to Matty, tbh...

Re: Scola to be Amenstied (OFFICIAL)
The Mavs are still interested in Luis Scola despite picking up Elton Brand off the amnesty wire on Friday.
Had the Mavs not acquired Elton Brand for just $2.1 million, we'd be more inclined to shoot this report down. If the rest of the league is asleep at the switch or cannot afford an offer on Scola, the Mavs may just get lucky, but it makes sense that a team with a greater need in their frontcourt antes up.

Amenstied...hmmm
Is that some kind of religious bondage or something?

Then these big name players get amnestied and he's able to use the cap space created for Williams to snatch them up at a bargain price. It won't be too long before we hear from him about how this was part of the plan all along.
And he would keep Scola from joining up with Manu and Tiago in San Antonio.
Cuban is a Idiot.

Re: Scola to be Amenstied (OFFICIAL)
With the Mavs signing Brand it increases our chances slightly to get Scola back.

Re: Scola to be Amenstied (OFFICIAL)
It would be nice if there was some rule against teams bidding on an amnesty player after winning a bid for another.

agreed their should be a limit or time frame after winning a bid before immediate adding another
if dallas lands scola and brand for nothing that is fcked up

Re: Scola to be Amenstied (OFFICIAL)
According to Scola's agent, Dallas and Phoenix have shown interest in bidding... dunno what's Phoenix situation as far as cap-room...
-
Re: Scola to be Amenstied (OFFICIAL)
Hopefully it works out, this would be a significant upgrade.

Mavs don't want any contracts that carry past next summer. At least that was their game plan five minutes ago.

Does Dallas have 3.3m in cap space left?
I'm unfamiliar with the Suns situation other than that they are making a big pitch for Mayo after striking out on Gordon.

IIRC, they have about $4 million available after winning the Brand sweepstakes...

Re: Scola to be Amenstied (OFFICIAL)
I guess once the guy is amnestied, then teams can talk to him. The bids are secret but the agent can surely steer teams a certain direction.

Re: Scola to be Amenstied (OFFICIAL)
We'll see what happened with his knee.. IIRC, he had surgery on it this summer... hopefully nothing serious...

Re: Scola to be Amenstied (OFFICIAL)
My question is, if we had Scola playing last year and this year in the playoffs, playing as Matt Bonner, taking the same exact shots Bonner did, how many more games would we have won? Even the threes.

You miss my (slightly joking, slightly exasperated) point:
If Scola took the same shots Bonner did in the playoffs, he'd probably wind up hitting more 3s. Definitely get more rebounds, too.
Scola doesn't shrivel in big games.

And he can get to the line and make effing freebies... goddamn Tiago got scared...
