Re: Argentina v Spain starting now
Does Ibaka even know how to speak Spanish ?
-
Re: Argentina v Spain starting now
Everybody hates Scola. lol
-
Re: Argentina v Spain starting now
Everyone has been worried about De Colo after his work in France this year so far but what about Ginobili? De Colo is looking better in France than Ginobili is in Argentina.
-
Re: Argentina v Spain starting now
lol argentina. doubt they even medal this year.

Re: Argentina v Spain starting now
Does Argentina have a backup point guard? Prigioni hasn't gotten a break yet..

Argentina not running any of their sets. Must be in it just for the exercise. Nothing to be concerned about here, tbh.
-
Re: Argentina v Spain starting now
It's a 3 point contest.... I expect Spain to miss everything against Team USA, par per...

How about that perimeter defense? It looked pretty bad early on.

Re: Argentina v Spain starting now

Re: Argentina v Spain starting now
the good news for ARG is that they're experienced enough to not get dragged down by a big loss... the bad news is that father time might be here for them...

Sure, and San Emeterio looks better than Durant for US.
:lol

Re: Argentina v Spain starting now
How come Argentina hasn't produced a decent prospect in about a decade? Was the Golden Generation a fluke or is it just an explainable dry spell?
-
Re: Argentina v Spain starting now
What surprised me about Argentina basketball is how they have no youth at all to help the team that won gold in 2004. They don't have a single decent player below 30. On would have think that the amazing success in 2004 would have push kids to play some basketball. Guess it didn't happened and they still only care about soccer.
-
Re: Argentina v Spain starting now
What's the score at the half?

Argentina isn't a basketball country... that's just the reality... it's no surprise they never ever won a medal at all before 2004 on basketball, which is why at the time was considered huge.

Spain is hitting everything too, though... the other day they could only score 83 against Australia... they already have 61 here... games like this happen...

To be fair, any 2004 inspired players probably won't come around for another few years.
But yeah, Argentina was loaded from 2002-2004 but it's be bone dry since then. They produced a group of great players born from ~1975 to 1982 but not much before or after. Weird.

You can't take anything away from Spain either... they're on their own great generation themselves...

Argentina v. France
July 31, 2012
Should be fun.
-
Re: Argentina v Spain starting now
Sons, don't forget that Argentina doesn't have Africa near by to pad their team with black athletic guys like France and Spain, tbh...
-
Re: Argentina v Spain starting now
Calderon with the stupid foul up 27...

Yep, good point. Argentina dine fine at the latest U17 championship. Maybe it will give something good at the professional level.
-
Re: Argentina v Spain starting now
Delfino and Prigioni were not in the roster that won the gold in 2004.
Argentina made the semi finals of the last year's U19 World Championship.
They have great coaches and very skilled players, but they lack size.
Delia and Deck are good examples.
-
Re: Argentina v Spain starting now
-
Re: Argentina v Spain starting now
This is actually Delfino's first game in like 3 months, IIRC...
-
Re: Argentina v Spain starting now
ARG came back from a 26 pt deficit on the 06 World's and missed a three to win it. I don't think they're very interested in showing their stuff tonight. Besides, they always lose this classic friendly game to spain before big tournaments.
Spain does have the roster to content for Gold TBH
-
Re: Argentina v Spain starting now
Manu 2/10... shades of the last game in the WCF...
-
Re: Argentina v Spain starting now
Nocioni showing toughness on Iblocka...
-
Re: Argentina v Spain starting now
Chandler gonna be frustrated Tuesday, tbh...

Re: Argentina v Spain starting now
That Argentinian surge was very inspiring, good game guys even though the game ends in a 20 point loss.
-
Re: Argentina v Spain starting now
For anyone who didn't watch the game Spain had control from the get-go but Argentina brought it within single digits in the fourth quarter. In the end, as expected, Spain still prevailed.
Argentina - 85
Espana - 105

Argentina probably should have thought about that before they killed off all the black people in the country. Little late to be complaining about that now, tbh.

The sad thing about it is that Uruguay does has black people within their community, as well as Brazil. Two border countries. Can you imagine a 2004 Argentina roster with a guy like Ibaka?

Spain's secret is that they stole the athletic genome(fast twitch muscle fibers) from west African people back in Moorish times, and incorporated them into their population, then killed them. Spain in known as having the most african ancestry from all Euro nations. It's no wonder they have more athletic freaks that are white compared to other white Euro nations.

Good point. Hitler didn't technically kill anyone either.

There's a difference between getting sent to war and being sent to the front lines to be slaughtered.

Re: Argentina v Spain starting now
Timvp I think you dont have a point. There were the famous campaign of the desert in argentina to kill the inhabitants of Patagonia, but a mass black slougther never took place in the way you are puting it.
