I saw the game France Brazil, these two teams are close. Maybe Argentina is a step ahead but globally Spain is his own tier.
Spain has some serious advantage downlow against the US (specially if coach-K keeps playing that retarded Paul, Kobe, Durant, Melo, Lebron line-up).
If them shots don't go in, watchout.
Spain is definitely in position to upset USA. They're not as athletic, sure, but their presence in the low post is an undeniable advantage.
They have to duplicate their 2008 Gold medal game performance from the perimeter to have a chance, which they surely can.
Spain is one of the few teams in contention that can control the tempo of the game. Brazil is the other team that was able to do that vs the United States. Argentina surprisingly was able to do that with Prigioni's composure and ability to setup the Argentinian offensive sets.
I have to add: if teams are able to control the tempo of the game and make timely shots... they have a chance at the end. It really depends on how long teams can control the tempo, we all know too well to expect a Team USA surge in a number of stretches, it's all about controlling the game and doing the most possible offensively outside of those US runs.
I'm sure Spain is crossing their fingers that USA gives Westbrick big minutes.
