those islands were china's properties back in the 19th centuries maybe and it seems they have very legit reasons to retain these islands based on the old eroded paperwork, but you don't see any democratic nations like spain for example attempt to reclaim their old territories like mexico, the western US and the whole south america excluding brazil.
just like some countries that were owned by mongols b4 teh mongol war, now china claims mongalia and whatever territories it use to own is now china...lol china

senkaku islands are part of taiwan per the post-war agreements so it has basically nothing to do with the commies to begin with, they want to become us and are attempting to expand their influence oversea, the exact same thing america did after the world war.
