Makes sense.
The Spurs were already stacked at the point guard position. It would be more fair to Collins to sign on another team.

Powell no stranger to training camp battleshttp://blog.mysanantonio.com/spursna...-camp-battles/Quote:
“It’s a little crazy over that way,” said Powell, who has averaged 3.9 points and 2.9 rebounds in 315 career games. “I stay out of that right now.”
All the better to focus on the task at hand. Powell got off to a positive start in his first outing with the Spurs, amassing seven points and seven rebounds in 17 minutes. That would seem to have given Powell the lead over Eddy Curry and Derrick Brown for the 15th and final roster spot. (Assuming, of course, that the Spurs choose to carry a full regimen.)
But Powell said he isn’t about to get ahead of himself after one preseason game.
“You’d have to ask (Gregg Popovich),” he said about where he might stand after Saturday’s game. “It’s not my first time being in this position. I know the guys in my position want to do well. For me, it’s leave it out on the court and let that be for somebody else. I have to at least do my part. That’s the way I look at it.”

Jeff McDonald @JMcDonald_SAEN
Tiago Splitter (back) was a full participant in practice today. Appears he'll be good to go for Spurs' next exhibition Wed vs. ATL.
It's nice to see Chip starting to work with Nando. He is a very good shooter but he is too streaky. If chip can make his shot more consistent and reliable, it will help him a lot.
Kawhi is still as nonchalant as ever.

Patty Mills will miss the next two preseason games with a sprained right ankle.
Ahh Patty. Bad luck for him.
Dang. I just picked up some tix for the Nuggets game and was hoping to see Patty play.
Well that further drops him down the rotation. :pctoss
Brown appreciates slim opportunity to earn Spurs roster spot

“He actually gave (one-time All-Star) Gerald Wallace a run for his money every day in practice,” Jackson said. “I think that’s what opened a lot of people’s eyes that he belongs in this league.”
Brown, who averaged 8.1 points and 3.6 rebounds for a dismal Charlotte team last season, says his experience with the Bobcats has prepared him for this shot with the Spurs.
“I learned a long time ago, you can’t control the situation that you’re in, but you can control what you do in that situation,” Brown said. “If you learn from it, it makes you who you are.”
What is it with the Spurs and picking up Bobcats players?
Oh well thanks for the help MJ :lol
interesting. No audio on the Mills and Blair interviews. All the others seem to play fine.
Thanks ace.
