Lakers coach Mike Brown has been fired, USA TODAY Sports has learned -
That was quick.
Lakers probably won't contend this year....they should go after Adelman.
They should hire Stan Van Gundy tbh
Lucky bastards. If only McHale could get fired and picked up by the Lakers would be full of :lol
if he really fired then it probably mean lakers reach an agreement wit somebody. imma hopin it not svg
Dantoni would be hilarious but it will be some interim coach that no one has heard of
Will they bring P-Jax back? Make Eddie Jordan interim? What other big names are out there?
Anyway, at least there's no more excuses for the Lakers, and they'll have to face the music about their flawed roster and lack of depth, none of which is on coaching...
Not to mention, they probably just set themselves back even more since any new coach will be installing a totally new system on the fly...
dude should have seen it coming:

Can't imagine they don't have a big name waiting in the wings to take over.
:lmao :depressed
Damn I thought this was a troll thread lmao...
What is going on with this team?
Mike_Bresnahan: Lakers forward Devin Ebanks arrested on suspicion of DUI this morning in Los Angeles, The Times has learned
Hahaha:
Adrian Wojnarowski @WojYahooNBA
As Lakers ownership has been considering firing of Brown, Mike D'Antoni has been a prominent name discussed as replacement, sources tell Y!
If Woj says it then it's true.
my money's on Jerry Sloan. But he's not adding any athleticism or footspeed on the perimeter.
Kobe and Nash would both like D'Antoni. I guess the defense wouldn't matter as much since they have Howard to protect the rim and cover up others mistakes.
lol...if the Lakers bring in Mike D...I can't imagine the trend will change lmao...
Kobe Bryant Player-Coach.
"I have an infestation of NBA head coaches in my garage." "That's easy to take care of." [puts ONE DWIGHT HOWARD in your garage] "Gone!"
It will be and should be Dan IMO. If you can make a successful, high paced team with Amare, you should certainly have the tools to do it with Nash, Kobe, and two supremely athletic bigs in Pau/Dwight. I think opening it up and making Kobe a shooter and putting the ball in Nash's hands is a good thing. Plus, Dan never had any good defensive players and bigs, so having Pau/Dwight should definitely offset some of his flaws.
Will be tough to install on the fly, but he has a ton of off talent to work with.
I'd be shocked if Sloan even considered it for three reasons...
1. He couldn't handle DWill's ego, why would he even try to babysit Kobe and Dwight?
2. The elite PG/PF combo his system depends on plays for the team across the hall...
3. He's a small-market kind of guy and doesn't seem like he'd be comfortable with the constant hype and drama surrounding the Lakers...
I bet Nate Silver knows who the next Lakers coach is going to be.
*fap-fap-fap*
sigh...
holy shit, D'Antoni coaching that team would be scary. They'd average 130 a night.
D'Antoni would help with the offense. You don't bring a guy in like Steve Nash and then make him a bit player in a half-court offense. I know it was only 1.5 games but Nash is really not nearly as good outside of 7SOL. He hadn't looked that bad since the Terry Porter days. With Dwight and Pau they have enough size and defense to protect the paint even though Pringles doesn't care about defense.
Well, while LA's offense has been decent, I think they are running it wrong based on the talent they have. Coach Dan would change that and implement the right system for that team. While defense is clearly the problem, I think Dwight not being all the way back is a big part of that which is not a system issue, plus I think the gain in offensive production will offset that some too.
Coach D has won a lot of games with his system and never had a squad like this. LA's lack of outside shooting might hurt, but Nash, Kobe, Artest, Meeks, Jamison are all capable outside shooters (Blake too). While we know defense wins championships typically, you can still go far with a high powered offense (see old Suns, new Spurs) and if Dwight gets fully healthy, their defense will improve significantly anyways.
Reports are Chuck Person will be interim coach.
D'antoni :lmao :lmao
Nash will be out of the lineup all year and D'antoni will be leading the Lakers.
Um, the offense struggles because Mike Brown put in a shitty godawful offense that doesn't take advantage of the talent on the roster. D'Antoni would fix that instantly. Maybe stick to posting funny gifs cuz when u actually come out with a basketball take, it's usually shit.
Seriously, they can bring in whoever they want to. Fact is Blake will be starting before season's end after Nash completely breaks down.
Doesnt matter what system you put in there, Kobe is relentlessly going to chuck regardless :lol
:lmao
well that fucking suck, we were having so much fun making jokes of the Lakers and Mike Brown, well I guess back to watch seriuos basketball now
LA's offense has not been that bad really. Their tied for 5th in offensive efficiency, but there is still a lot of potential there to unlock as Nash has been a complete non-factor.
The Lakers are too old to run and gun. Blaming this on Brown is fucking hilarious.
LOL Shitty lakers looking for a out for their shitty play. When Howard can't perform he will throw anyone under the bus. I hope the Bobcats have a better record then the Lakers.
Still amazing LeBron won 60 games multiple times with Mike Brown.
It's about as dumb as telling Dwight Howard to forget about defense and telling a bunch of old, slow guys to run the floor...
Additionally, Pringles' offense does not work with a ball-stopper, this was proven by Melo in NY and I couldn't see it being any different with Kobe...
Bernie Bickerstaff is the interim coach for tonights game
Dwight/Pau is so much better from an athleticism/skill standpoint than anything Coach D has had before it's unreal. Yes, Nash is not the same & injuries are a major concern for him, but he's still productive in a good system.
Kobe is 10x better than anything that system has had too. Imagine replacing Joe Johnson or J-Rich with Kobe and Amare/Marion with Pau/Dwight/Artest. Given, age has caught up to some, but the point remains IMO
:lol

Ultimately, Brown maintained his confidence in the long-term plan the Lakers are trying to execute.
"I feel really good about the direction that we're going," Brown said. "Obviously in the short term, it's not pretty. It's not fun right now, but I really feel confident in what we're trying to do with the group of guys that we have. It's just going to take a little bit of time for them to completely understand what we have going on and then also myself to where I'm comfortable with the rotation, the things that I want to do with our guys on the floor and so on and so forth."
:lmao
shoot 7 seconds into the shotclock! :lmao
When you replace an offensive threat like Bynum with an non-offensive threat like Howard, you are going to have problems scoring.
You can't hire D'antoni and then expect him to start changing how he's done shit in the past also. That just setting yourself up for more failure. 7 second shot clock rule isn't working in LA. Better off going with Nate McMillan or somebody else.
lakers are a train wreck .......... great 1-4 .... awful 5-12 .... you just can't piece these guys together without some form of offense ......
The new offense about to drop..........
Kobe chucks 30x a game for 28pts and the Lakeshow loses by an 8pts avg.
Chuck city bitch, chuck chuck city bitch, chuck city bitch, chuck chuck city bitch...... :lmao
PHIL!!!!!!!!
crofl team wide panicking and meltdown
D'antoni had surgery a couple of weeks ago and isn't on his feet yet.
we all saw this shit coming, just i didnt tihnk so soon.
Best case scenario: Phil or Sloan step out from the shadows and take the wheel.
I don't have hope in either when pringles is pretty much the #1 candidate it seems. I guess SVG or JVG are out there too.
praying that SVG gets the coaching job
Jerry Sloan? You really think he's gonna put up with Dwight's court jester routine?
And don't get me wrong, I don't think Coach Dan saves the day or that it's guaranteed to work, but I see the logic in the move and it could work out pretty well.
:lobt2:
Jerry Sloan would probably whoop Dwight's ass in practice, he doesn't like to deal with pussies.
73-9 dream revived!
It'd be a welcome change of pace from this

this niggga phil is truly lucky. he's gonna get a blank check from the owner and then go home and bang his sister.
there's no way Sloan would go to LA. they probably sent a blank check to Phil Jackson's house along with a committee to kiss his ass repeatedly
A few points...
1. lebomb, shut your retarded nigger ass up...you're neither edgy nor funny.
2. Give Phil a blank check and see if he comes knocking.
3. Make sure MB takes Eddie and the rest of the soul train with him out the door.
4. White HC's only please.
Sloan is old but he's a good coach and probably still hungry for that 1st ring.
In other news, apparently Phil cancelled a scheduled appearance to speak during a conference in Chicago, at the last minute.
Damn, I was hoping the Lakers would take their sweet time in firing Mike Brown. He had obviously lost the team already (in other words, Kobe didn't respect him) so it was only a matter of time.
Unfortunately, this was a good move by the Lakers. And I really don't want them to hire D'Antoni. He can fix that offense and their individual defenders are good enough to figure it out on their own.
Plus, Kobe would be forced to respect D'Antoni since D'Antoni routinely bent Kobe over back in his prime.
