I made a concerted effort to track Duncan's blocks and rebounds throughout the game... I counted 4 blocks and yet he was only credited with two. I also had him down for 2 more rebounds than the official stat sheet... The worst part is that this "home" trend has been consistently poor all year... For reference, the statisticians for the losses at Denver and OKC (which were still in my DVR queue) were more accurate... We need to hire the guy that "kept track" of Stockton's in-game statistics...
I mentioned the same thing in the game thread. At halftime, I thought Duncan had three blocks at least. Looked at the scoreboard and they had him down for one. Weird - though it's not the first time the AT&T stat guys have jobbed TD. What's funny is that TD's averaging 3 bllks per game on the road and only 2 blocks per game at home. Definitely seems suspicious that TD gets more respect on the road then at home.
Instead of the Dwight Howards and Serge Ibakas of this world Tim Duncan rejects shots without sending the ball into the third row. With his blocked shots the Spurs have the chance to get the ball and profit from a possible fastbreak. So yeah, some of his blocks might go unnoticed because of this, but after rewatching a game, every statistician should get it right ... I mean they care so much about statistics ...
I honestly think that if one were to go back and review the tape, Duncan's BPG number would go up by about one. I think the culprit is the subtlety of those blocks he gets where he nonchalantly pins the ball against the backboard/rim before he grabs it a split second later. But yeah, I agree that he seems to get shortchanged at home, which is inexcusable.

2.14 home
2.81 road
That's a >30% increase on the road. That's a drastic difference; 2.81 would be third in the NBA and could make TD the leading candidate for DPOY.
The home statistician needs some film study to learn what a block is or needs to be fired, tbh.
LOL I used to work with Walter Stoops before he retired from here. The dude loves his stats.
They've been doing this to Duncan most of his career. Drives me nuts.
The statisticians are about as worthless as the PA announcer at the AT&T Center.
Impressive people put into those two jobs.
A few of those blocks weren't really blocks and were deflected passes, I think.
Seriously, some of the people working at the 'Center are hacks. Where can I apply so I can take their job?

If the home statistician awarded Duncan blocks the way the Boston one awards assits for Rondo, then Duncan would easily win DPOY.
I remember one game against Sacramento that Duncan had at least 4 blocks in the 4TH QUARTER and 7 or 8 in the entire game, he was only credited with 4.
Yeah, I don't get why Duncan's getting cock blocked out of his stats so much. The home guys are supposed to give you the benefit of the doubt, not be strict as fuck as if they were the away statistician for a rival team he just knocked out in the playoffs 3 years in a row.
Sitting here on this forum complaining about it won't solve anything. Who can everyone contact to alert someone about the discrepancy? They should at least look into it.
Just tiny anecdotal evidence, but I don't think it's just Duncan's blocks. I've noticed many times where there's what our TV announcers refer to as "steals," and I agree, just a straight steal of a pass.... but it doesn't get credited.

Tim's always been given the short-end when it comes to his stats at home - think I even posted about it a couple of years ago.
The only Spur I can even remember the statistician going the extra mile for was Rodman. Dude tipped a ball, not even a controlled tip, and if the Spurs came up with the ball, offensive rebound for the Worm. Sure he paid well.
IMHO home statkeepers should be slightly biased. See the Jazz for an adding APG/BPG 101 course...
