Considering the outside and large yard circumstances, I'd have to recommend the dog that I have; the smartest most loving breed there is IMO - A Border Collie!
Here are a couple pics of my pup - he's a year and a half old:
thinking of getting another puppy soon, my bullmastiff is too stubborn/dickheaded doesnt listen and since he's 9 and won't be around forever i figure i want something more trainable this time around. must be a capable guard, affectionate, loyal, and trainable/smart. don't really care about grooming, i'll do the work if i have to as long as it listens and doesn't act like a tard in the house. something that will be good outdoors most of the day in a large yard and indoors at night so basically in and out. ability to withstand heat not an issue (yes i actually custom built a doghouse with a small window unit in it) so what say you?
oh and probably getting a girl this time tbh imo
Get a mix, they won't be inbred and stupid.

not at all. my one year old son climbs all over our dog (lab mix) and she is very good with him. If he is going a bit overboard, she gives him a soft bite, and he usually stops, but if he keeps going she just gets up and moves.

#1) Samoyed (not as common, smart, trainable, cool, needs regular grooming)
#1A) Yellow or Chocolate Lab (common-but all round great pets)

Border Collie is supposed to be by far the smartest dog out there. I remember seeing an episode of BBC's Horizon where they demonstrated one Border Collie's ability to reason abstractly.

There's a special place in hell for people who put clothes on their dog.

There's a special place in the ground for people who believe in hell. What if it were a Pelicans jersey?

What an interesting video, thanks BB! FYI, the part he's talking about begins at the 28:00 minute mark.

+1
too many times pure breeds are the product of mother/son fucking or some other crazy inbred dog shit. plus mix breed won't cost hundreds of dollars.

Border Collie is too smart for m>s. The dog would figure out how to open an account at a credit union before m>s.

I love Labs, but they're some stupid dogs...and as pups, they're incredibly mouthy. Damn things will chew anything then chew the ground around it.
American Standard Poodles are incredible dogs....athletic as all hell and fucking brainiacs. Love 'em.

Plus the inferiority complex m>s would have every time he saw the dog's uncircumcised penis.

German Shepard. That fits all your needs. They are big dogs though. Smart fuckers, and cool headed until it's time to not be.
