OKC Thunder vs the LA Lakers Game Thread
In this game, Laker fans explains they were traumatized as followers after waking up during the night to the sounds of these Laker lambs screaming as they were being slaughtered. I come to the conclusion that they desperately want to win this game against the Thunder, because they feel that by winning today, they'll be able to finally silence the memories of the lambs.
Will the Lakers finally get their much awaited signature win and stop the Lambs from screaming?
Lakers are currently 1-6 against the Thunder including last years playoff defeat.

If OKC doesn't win by double digits I expect Lakerfan to count this as a moral victory.

Lakers are 12-0 in moral victories this season. 1st in their conference, 2nd overall in the league behind the Raptors.

Re: OKC Thunder vs the LA Lakers Game Thread
If the Lakers tie the game or have the lead anytime after the first 4 minutes of the game it will be considered a moral victory. They'll be able to say: "We just need to learn how to finish games..."

Most optimal/ideal situation would be a game that would set the record for most overtimes in nba history.

Keys to the game
Lakers
Pound the ball inside. Involve Dwight early to get his defensive juices up.
Allow Kobe to play facilitator, with Nash playing spot up shooter
Slow the pace. They're not winning the game playing OKC's strength which is speed.
Gasol-Howard 2 man game this time might not work. Why? Ibaka is an active defender, Gasol playing point
forward to feed Dwight will not be successful. I can see a lot of deflected passes causing tons of transition baskets for OKC.
Kobe must attack the basket and feed Dwight. This is the only way they'll score inside the paint. Posting Dwight will most certainly cause a lot of turnovers.
Kobe must not take more than 15 shots in this game. If they have to lose with no one else scoring, so be it. Kobe scoring 30 points against OKC is a sure loss.

Keys to the game
OKC
Instigate Kobe by focrcing Durant ina position to score 24 first half points. Refusing to be outdone offensively, Kobe will disregard the teams offense and show the world on National televised game that he still have "it" scoring his own version of 26 points (8/26 shooting)
Activate Hasheem thabeet for a Hack- A - Dwight strategy early in the game even if you're up by double digits. Psych him out.
Put Ibaka on Gasol. ALL DAY. Ineffective Gasol= Lakers loss.

DAMN man, why'd you give Scotty Brooks such helpful tips on gaining another game on your clippers?

Re: OKC Thunder vs the LA Lakers Game Thread
If the Lakers win can we say they've somehow found a way to play together and should be considered a very dangerous team come playoff time?

Re: OKC Thunder vs the LA Lakers Game Thread
The Lakers could win by 50 points; at the end of the day, they'll still be 6 games away from .500

Re: OKC Thunder vs the LA Lakers Game Thread
OKC gonna tap that ass...

Dont get it. Saw wikipedia definition and still dont know why Lakers got 12-0 moral victories. Or this is simply someking of irony, point to those overpaid fuckers.

Re: OKC Thunder vs the LA Lakers Game Thread
Mal, Lakers have a lot of games they lost this season against contenders after trailing from a huge lead.
Samples
:01/04/13
Lakers 102
Clippers 107
Clippers had at one point were leading the Lakers by 20 points. Lakers cut the deficit by 2 points in the 4th quarter only to lose to a CP3 game winner.
01/09/13
Spurs 108
Lakers 105
No Dwight, No Hill, No Gasol. Everyone thought this would be a blow out. But the Spurs were so sloppy with the it didn't take much pressure to get them to cough it up. San Antonio led 101-85 with 6:15 to go. Less than three minutes later, the Lakers had cut the lead to five points. L.A. closed the game with a 20-7 run, just 2 buckets shy from winning the game.
01/17/13
Heat 99
Lakers 90
Lakers were actually leading the Heat up until the second half and then Lebron took over in the 4th. This is another moral victory because the Lakers ALMOST beat the 2012 champs with Gasol, Dwight still recovering from rust and injuries. Also, Haslem stopper Jordan Hill was out.

Re: OKC Thunder vs the LA Lakers Game Thread
Tough game regardless of the Laker's record. Our play has been slumping as of late and if that continues, we'll lose a game if we don't get our crap together.

Moral victory is a loss in which the team seemed to play well enough to win the game or at least stay competitive throughout.
12-0 is an arbitrary record. I doubt anyone cares enough to count the games in which the Lakers were competitive this season.
