Re: Why does Timmy often get unnoticed by most people..?!?!
its nice to know there are many filipinos in here! you know, when i start talking about timmy with my friends, i'm the one who feels out of place because they cannot relate to me.. sometimes they get irritated.. it's a good thing i have this one good friend, she's also a spurs fan but specifically manu's.. =) By the way, what's the name of Timmy and Amy's baby girl..?
Re: Why does Timmy often get unnoticed by most people..?!?!
I think many people appreciated Duncan when he was out for those 6 weeks after the severe sprained ankle in Detroit during the regular season. We lost to the lottery bound Knicks, a Pacers bench, a 25 pt blowout to Dallas, and we barely won in 2 double OT wins against the lottery bound Clippers and Warriors.
That's the kind of impact Tim Duncan has. I don't think people hate Tim Duncan or like Manu more. I just think many people take Duncan for granted at times.

I don't know ANYONE who takes Timmy for granted! Not any true Spurs fan anyway. Or any real basketball fan, for that matter.

:wtf
I meant that his 20 and 15 night after night is almost a given.

I wasn't criticizing you - sorry if it looked that way.
I agree with you. He scores his double-doubles so consistently that most don't notice it if he's had a bad free throw night. I just don't think he is taken for granted by Spurs fans as much as he flys under the radar with the national media. They know he's "groundhog day" - he just isn't flashy enough for them to care.
Re: Why does Timmy often get unnoticed by most people..?!?!
i actually, truly believe next season will be a 66-70 win season
i have been waitin for such a season, and this season will be it.
considering that manu is comin into his own, they won59 games this season with duncan out 16games, and a healthy duncan
i expect a monster season next season
Re: Why does Timmy often get unnoticed by most people..?!?!
hey, tim isnt worry about all the talk surroundin manu. cmon , he is definitely respected by the fans and the organization. In his whole career, im pretty sure there
hasnt been a single rumor of spurs ever even remotely considering tradin duncan, not even an inkling
i dont think u can say that about any body else the past 8 years
Re: Why does Timmy often get unnoticed by most people..?!?!
The way he plays puts people to sleep. Ginobili plays a more flashy style of game that people like. That's why he gets unnoticed.
Re: Why does Timmy often get unnoticed by most people..?!?!
He goes unnoticed because he doesn't fro his hair out, get covered with tattoos, overly celebrate the most simple plays or run his mouth off to the media i.e. Shaq. That is the way all sports stars should be. It's okay though. I just remember a line from a song by the reggae band The Gladiators. "The humble and the meek they shall prevail."
Re: Why does Timmy often get unnoticed by most people..?!?!
i just want you to remember how SAD we were-the Spurs fans, the org. his teammates(even lost the next game in NY:cry), WHEN TIM DUNCAN GOT INJURED IN DETROIT. As if it was the end of the world. How that 2005 Championship trophy suddenly became a shadow to all of us.
THAT'S HOW IMPORTANT TIM DUNCAN IS TO THE SAN ANTONIO SPURS.
Save the cheers and applause for Manu. Tim Duncan doesn't need that. He knows where he stands...BEING THE FACE OF THIS TEAM. THE FOUNDATION.

well, they are wrong. just kidding. Just tell them the team would lose most of its games, without timmy.
Re: Why does Timmy often get unnoticed by most people..?!?!
I think Duncan is a great overall player but not a dominant player on the offensive end. I can think of many other players that are better on the offensive end. If he was a dominant offensive player he would get noticed more like Shaq.

Man, remember that writer claiming that he had "inside info" about Timmy's injury and said he would be out for the rest of the season?!!
:cuss

i can still remember...the sad faces of my friends and mine.
and you almost cursed anybody who said "Duncan is done".
then, when you can't just imagine how happy you were when you read the news "Timmy was working double-time to get back before playoffs", doing all the water therapy and all that.
what a season that was. :angel
