Really? Double digits? This thread has gone this far? We all know SBM is a fucking clown that deserves to have the Internet taken away from him, but now you guys are feeding this shit.....normally, I'd get behind the idea of clowning on this faggot and making him look dumber but certainly you guys have to realize that SBM thinks he's trolling you right? If you don't, then he actually is trolling you.
No one can make this dumb an argument and be serious about it....why are you humoring this fuckstick?

Quote:
There is a special Force within all of us -within You,my friend. A Force so powerful that many who abuse it lose control of their lives and fall to the darkside. The dark side full of ego, fear, anger and hatred and greed....
What is The Force? The Force is the God power (or Creator) that runs through all things. It is the Life Force that makes the rivers run, the flowers bloom, the stars twinkle and the Heart beat its rhythm of life. When you stop to consider all the things that go on without our conscious awareness or intervention, you'll have a sense of just how powerful this Force really is. You can also learn how to channel this Force to your benefit.
How can I use the Force? Great question. Like any skill or discipline, learning the art of The Force takes great patience and time to master. Think about any great teacher or mentor that you've had and you'll notice that almost all are over 50 years old.
The reason for this is that it takes time and practice to "see through" the normal veils that society teaches people. It can take years to learn the art of quieting your mind - the first and most vital step in mastering the Force.
The good news is if you have the courage to turn off the noise, the media, and the opinions of other people, the time it takes you to more fully tap this force within you will dramatically decrease. If, on the other hand, if you choose to choose to depend on others for your spiritual or emotional sustenance, it could take you a lifetime to learn the simplicity that runs through all life.
As you learn to quiet your mind, you will begin to notice things that you've never noticed before. Life will begin to take on a new meaning, a new depth and joy......

I am sure there are many more instances of the same thing being said...I am not talking about something just invented...it has been around for ages in many different forms...
Waking up, awakening, whatever you want to call it is the same thing...open your eyes- get rid of your programming - get back to reality- on and on and on...
been said many times...do people want truth?
Nope.
Even hollywood screenwriters use this over and over...

oh yeah, I left out politics...same thing another loonie institution...
How are they any better than religion? All three (education/religion/politics) are loony institutions that churn out trained monkeys...twist their little tails - they react this way and spout this nonsense...twist their little tails that way and they run on a stage and spout political propaganda and pander to whomever pays them more. Controlled, brainwashed trained chimpanzees all of them.
You look down on religion - that is your business - be as disdainful as you like - doesn't really mean much - but don't harbor the illusion that religion is in any way worse than any other institution like politics. Same brainwashed guinea pigs wearing a different costume, identifying with different labels and titles and credentials.

Why do you think educators are controlled? Science is all about questioning various items and performing tests to determine the truth of those questions. That sounds a lot like what you are telling people to do.

They are no worse than religious leaders either-- this is the whole point --they aren't better - they aren't worse - to bash religious people - as Blake put it - for bringing religion into politics - when politicians are no better - is pretty ignorant.

Didn't you just bash educators, politicians and religious members as trained monkeys?
And again, aren't educators doing what you said to do? Ask questions, determine the real answers?

Ok - was illustrating a point to Blake - so I will re-phrase for those like you that are actually conversing and not just playing games like the usual suspects.
Educators scientists who are awake are great for everyone - they are awakened warriors who are helping humanity through their work and are living wakeful happy lives.
The Ones that are asleep and brainwashed still are no better or worse than anyone else and this is who I was talking about - thanks for pointing out my WRONG GENERALIZATION and lumping all educators together.

Yeah... I associated Fudrucker's so strongly with childhood memories of that trademarked pump-action "cheez" that I had no interest in setting foot in the franchise for 20 yrs thinking everything would be as synthetic (albeit tasty) as that yellow slime. Blech. Anyway, circumstance/convenience led me back reluctantly a few years ago, and the quality (and variety... wild boar? Fucking caribou?) of the burger vaulted high over my low expectations.
And yes: good for sports when you don't want to have to get shit-faced with your old crew of sports-junkie barfly friends.

I said many times before- the only difference between me and the people laughing is that at least
I know
that I have been brainwashed.
Someday it might not be funny when you figure out how asleep you were.

naw. I've studied the works from the scientific warriors to find truth in the world and in the universe.

You see how you so easily swallowed that religious people are - looney?
Now use this same criteria you used -really just look at the blindness they posses---then apply it to all the other "so-called" disciplines -
and presto --
you begin to see how they are all trained monkeys. Twist their tails and they do whatever they were programmed to do!!!!
No one is exempt - only those that are awake.

Re: The Curious Brainwashing Case of ...
Ok...let's get back on topic...It is only a short scene and there is more to come but let us look into how someone is programmed....
The Eternal Sunshine of the Woo-Bung Mind
SSSHHHH....don’t say anything...Woo-Bung Hole is asleep. He isn’t programmed goddamnit! He is not programmed. Nobody dare wake him and please- no one tell him that this is about him. I am standing over his bed and he has been out for about two hours - perfect time to remove that program and head over to the Lacuna offices and make a print out to see exactly what has been programmed into his brain.
Here we go..ssshhh...and opening his fat head-jesus this boy’s head is about the size of a mongolian baby- here we ...go...there! Done.
We have to get to the office and print this out and return the chip back into his mongoloid head before he wakes.
(Two hours later...and...snap...it is replaced...let’s get outta here...)
Ok here is the printout ...oh by the way this isn’t the entire Woo Bung Hole movie - only the scene where we check under the mongo hood -so-to-speak.
Ok.
I will hand over the reigns to my esteemed colleague -Dr. Mierzwiak who will explain exactly Woo Bung-Holes’ programming in detail.
Dr. Mierzwiak:
Good evening, let us go over the programming that came out of that cavernous head of the Woo kid. This a a very detailed program, these initials here I recognize - they are from the U.S. Department of Education, these are the parents initials- the Woo kid’s parents, and there are a bunch of others here too - but more importantly how do these work and which program was implanted into the cavernous skull?
Let us see;
There is a set of demands here for how the world should be, how the Woo kid should be and what he should want. This program tells Woo what he should want, what he should desire, what he needs, what his values are, what taste he should have and even what attitude he should carry. This program is so advanced that as Woo experienced things - they would be stored in this systems’ memory so he could recall his past experiences and act the way the program instructed him to.
Now wherever Woo goes - whatever he does - this program is active and it insists that Woo follow the demands of this program. If Woo follows the demands - the computer allows him to feel peaceful, calm & satisfied. If the demands are not met - the program will generate negative emotions into the gigantic brain which will cause Woo to suffer.
For example if others don’t live up to the programs expectations - Woo will experience frustration, anger or bitterness. If the future is uncertain or Woo’s plans don’t fall into place the computer will insist that Woo experience anxiety & worry. Woo will expend a lot of energy to try and deal with these negative emotions by trying to “cope”...which always ends up with Woo trying to rearrange the world and the people around him - to “fit” his computer program. Instead of seeing reality as it is and accepting it - he is a slave to the program and tries to make reality “fit” his computer. Some would call this being crazy - but strangely no one has noticed Woo’s odd behavior.
Here’s a fun part of this program. Once in a while Woo is successful in rearranging the world around him and his team wins or he gets a promotion or a new title or a girl gives him a mercy fuck - then the program will grant Woo a little respite- a break -from the norm and he will think that happiness is finally here!
Unfortunately - the world and people return to their normal selves and invariably -sooner or later - the world around Woo will clash with his program all over again. What follows?
You guessed it - the computer will generate more negative emotions and Woo will spend even more energy in this pathetic little mental dog & pony routine.
:lmao
To be continued...
-
Re: The Curious Brainwashing Case of ...
Has anyone in Austin been to Burt's or Sandy's? They're pretty close to me or work but I don't want to waste a trip and money if they suck.
-
Re: The Curious Brainwashing Case of ...
sandy's is alright. Hill-berts? Never heard of burt's but hill-berts is meh
-
Re: The Curious Brainwashing Case of ...
Yeah, that's probably it. Sandy's must be OK if it has lasted next door to a Whataburger all these years. I keep waiting for the Elevation Burger to move out to 183 with a drive thru. They need to start grilling their buns though.
-
Re: The Curious Brainwashing Case of ...
counter cafe has got my favorite burger in austin. But they close at like 3 so not so convenient
-
Re: The Curious Brainwashing Case of ...
Yeah, I'll try to remember that the next time I'm downtown early. What do you do for Chinese?
-
Re: The Curious Brainwashing Case of ...
suzy's chinese kitchen is pretty good though a little on the pricey side for chinese. I really like Tien Jien (pretty sure that's right) on westgate. It's right next to the super buffet and consequently is usually pretty quiet inside. The vegetables there all seem super fresh and the price is perfect. Clientele is a lot of asian families which i felt validated the food, imo.
for all sorts of asian (chinese, vietnamese, etc) 888. Super cheap, open late, and killer pho
-
Re: The Curious Brainwashing Case of ...
Cool, I live fairly close to Suzi's and will try the others when I'm in the neighborhood. I live very close a takeout place that is only fair, but OK for lunch when I'm lazy. China House on Burnet is much better across the board. Hwa Yuan on Balcones Woods has pretty good Korean for less than than Korea House. There's good Pho all over the place up here to my taste, but I'm not a connoisseur .
-
Re: The Curious Brainwashing Case of ...
i've been making my own potstickers, but need help with making some killer dipping sauces (no homo).
i got this scanpan that works amazingly. potstickers come out perfect every time.
-
Re: The Curious Brainwashing Case of ...
Oh. I forgot to mention the best restaurant in town. Uchi. If you haven't, you must. Even if sushi isn't your thing this place will blow your mind. We try to make it out there once a month but that can be expensive. Their happy hour is awesome though, we usually will just get one of everything on happy hour (6-7 tasting dishes) some sake and make it out of there under $80 which is awesome for this place. Also, Uchiko, just as good with a different menu.

Different answers for this...
A) The point might be that I am an idiot for trying
B) The point could be to talk about important things that might be of use
C) Point might be to insult each other
D) Point was never to persuade anyone - just throwing it out there.
E) Depends on your point of view

Great question - very stupid of me to try an answer so, for now, I would re-ask it of you - are you happy most of the time?

Which story, Freddie's?
Just giving Woo the courtesy - since he asked me - how is he brainwashed - I tried to show him how a lot of us - were unwittingly programmed.
There is a method to the madness - but I am pretty sure that most people want it proven in a paragraph or two and that is impossible. So, I threw it out there anyway to see if it ever could lead to a deep discovery or to any meaningful insights -so -to - speak.

I would say so, personally. Not counting brief moments of frustration/rage, whenever I am unhappy I tend to evaluate my life. I have a great wife and great kids, and we're all relatively healthy. I have food, shelter, and a job. I have a vehicle. I have enough money to save (ok, probably not enough but close) enough for retirement and still do recreational activities. Life's been good to me so far.

I called you butthurt.
I'd say your communication skills were slipping, but you've sucked at it from pretty much day 1.

I don't do angry name calling.
When I call you a huge fucking idiot, I'm simply calling a spade a spade.

I am happy to hear that - hell I am happy to hear anything positive in here.
I have a similar opinion of my state.
I have been incredibly blessed as it sounds like you have. I have also been on the other side where "so-called" tragedy struck and it led me to the road of searching for truth.
Of course - this is just in reference to a "conventional" idea or definition of what "happiness" means...
sorry - it seems like I can't ever just accept simple definitions - it always leads to the deeper meaning - so we should keep it simple.

Maybe I feel a certain sincerity in his posts - or he is trolling me better than you are...
and I find it hard to answer simple questions when the questions are not simple.

I think most people tend to "search" for truth when negative things happen, in order to justify to themselves why such a thing would happen to them. Most people consider themselves as "good" people, so when something bad happens, the brain needs to find a way to rationalize "why" it happened, even if there really isn't any reason.

simple questions that aren't simple?
You need to cut through your deep bullshit and simplify things.
You're either happy or you're not. It's really that simple.

Agreed.
Good times/easy times are great but they don't lead to growth by themselves. Suffering is a state that carries the potential of growth and learning. Extreme suffering is one of the most valuable things any human can have happen to them - but boy it sure hurts and it sucks when you are reeling and finding yourself in the midst of it. :lol

I think a lot of people try to mitigate the failures in their lives by trying to create a new personal philosophy that amounts to little more than sour grapes about the lives they wanted before the failures.

I'm sure that happens from time to times as well. Heck, I wanted to be a super badass EOD tech. But I guess settling for a nice networking job with a great family is a good Plan B.

Ok...simple huh?
Happiness : what is your definition of it? where did this definition come from? from your mommy? daddy? your religion? your culture? your education? your society?
AFTER we have found where you are coming from - then we are only at the beginning of the question...
Simple huh?
I will give you my "sleeping/programmed" answer...here it is;
"um yeah dude - got a few mugs on ice, spurs are winning, girl is smoking hot and is in the mood , life is good, bro!"

Use your definition of happiness.
Are you happy most of the time?
Yes or no.

??what would qualify as a failure? that reality didn't meet the programming in their head , maybe?
by trying to create a new personal philosophy
??what is your personal philosophy?
that amounts to little more than sour grapes about the lives they wanted
??are you implying that people had programming in their brain that told them what they should want and what "should" happen?
??Wouldn't this be lunacy? To live a live according to the programming in your head instead of the reality in front of you and all around you?
before the failures.
??There is that failure word again...please define. Thanks.

Why is the awake/de-programmed person not happy in this situation?

Great, so everyone is happy in that situation.
What's the point of waking up if you're happy being asleep?

I am not a burger eater anymore...but does anyone find that the temptation crab sushi rolls are really tasty?
Even the local HEB sushi has some really underrated rolls.

Re: The Curious Brainwashing Case of ...
Well, if you want to abandon your own topic, you can't be very happy about how it's going.
