Hey girl - go ahead and PM me your phone number. Something tells me I might have to talk you down off a ledge one of these days. :lolQuote:

Steve Smith -- they let him walk
So let's see here... the Spurs "got rid" of Malik Rose, and I guess Stephen Jackson, though that was partly his own doing. Steve Smith never played.
This is a non-issue. Compare the 1980 Lakers to the 1985 Lakers and the only holdovers are Magic and Kareem.
And even if the Spurs trade one player this summer, the core is still here.Quote:
We're due as Spurs fans to have a core group of guys compete for the championship year in & year out for a while. I think this was the point of the thread.
If it wasn't Rasho on the block, angel_luv wouldn't have started this thread.
It's okay, girl. You can still love him if he's in Portland.
Yikes. The Spurs might be able to get SAR for Radosoft. Awesome. :drunk
It's not "Kersey for Rahim"...but it's close.
We already have the core group intact. Duncan, Ginobilli, Parker are all signed to long term deals. That means that this team will contend for the championship every year for a long while. I rather win championships than worry if a role player is traded to improve the team.Quote:

Darn you Pop! Rasho still has five more strike outs with me!
You know, the only Bulls that carried over from the 1993 champion to the 1996 champion were Jordan and Pippen. Those Chicago fans were robbed of roster continuity.
What bullshit complaint will Spurs fans come up with tomorrow?
Fuck it. I agree with this topic.
Pop is notorious for fucking up a championship team.
Seems like he might be getting it right for a change.
How has he fucked up a championship team?! Three guys retired from 2003, one left with a promise to start elsewhere, etc.Quote:

Pop.
pretty please dont trade rasho?
I also usually feel really sad when players get traded away and it takes me a while to get used to new players. Actually, I couldn't be a Spurs fan if a player like Kobe came to the Spurs. Actualy, bash me if you will, but I am not very comfortable about any other superstar joining the Spurs. But I don't have a problem with a minor trimming of the roster.
I know there are some that will strongly disagree with me, but I think that if .4 didn't happen, the Spurs would've won 2004 title, making this year a three-peat.Quote:

Nice. That was the downfall right there.
some of us aren't complaining...some of us are just enjoying a third title! :)Quote:

How were they supposed to keep Kerr from retiring and Speedy from leaving for a place to start?Quote:

They didn't have to roll with Anthony Carter and Shane Heal, especially knowing that Parker disappeared when the pressure was on.Quote:

Damn that meniscus!Quote:

Sorry all for my retarded " logic". But I can't say this was a totally pointless thread. You guys did cheer me up.
Only player that I wish we still had was Stephen Jackson. But he made the bonehead decicision to pass on the Spurs initial offer in '03. Moneywise, it worked out in the end for him. But if we kept him instead of bringing in Hedo, I think we beat the Lakers and win the title, back to back.
I do know I don't miss Turkeyglue or "Herpes" Smith at all.
