I think he would bring him in under the right circumstances -- we're looking at Jamal Sampson and have taken on guys like Jack in the past. The scenario put forth here doesn't qualify however.
Thats true...Big Dog got pissed in Philly and then refused to show up in NO. Then he comes here, gets around our staff and players and all of the sudden he accepts being a role player and contributes to the team positively. Same could happen with Brown. The difference is that Kwame is 22 and has a long career ahead of him if he can get in the right situaution.
The risk with GRob?
Two months prorated minimum salary subsidized by the league.
Risk with Brown?
6 years, $50+ million.
See the difference?
Rasho for Kwame?
I'd have to think about it. Kwame Brown is talented. He has the skills to be a very, very good player. He's just lazy and hasn't been the same since he bombed in his rookie season.
But he's the type of player the Spurs like to get. A player with a lot of physical abilities who has struggled to put it all together. Remember this is the same team that took on Stephen Jackson when the Nets gave up on him. The Spurs also tried to get Qyntel Woods last season -- and his act was so bad that the Blazers gave up on him.
6 years and $50 million for a 22 year old with limitless potential...not a 34 year old at the end of his career
And the potential to be out of the league in a year as well. Or never improve and drag down your cap for years to come.Quote:

This isn't how the Spurs work.
Buy low.
I thought the new CBA allows you to cut players with big salaries without it counting against the cap.
Just this summer, not after.
No, it allows teams that are in the luxury tax territory to cut one player, one time without it counting against the luxury tax -- it still counts against the salary cap.Quote:

We probably won't, but it's been some pretty good discussion so far. What other big men could we trade Rasho for? (not that he needs to be traded)Quote:

That's not what I heard...I heard he ran circles around Jordan, and that's why Jordan had his ass traded. Because he didn't want to get embarrassed.Quote:
