....and the reason we did not resign stephen jackson..?
:fro
so we could sign brent barry
he got a big head and wanted too much dough
Remembers 03 finals parade where Sjax said he wanted to be a Spur the next year :rolleyes
That was a stupid move by San Antonio.
PredictableQuote:

If Spurs pay Sjax what he wanted you think they would've been able to keep Manu or Parker? Spurs made the right choice
Spurs were 1 fisher shot away from having that 3peat parade without Sjax
Last I checked they would still have to win 1 more game and Shaq would have 2 days off for game 7. They would also have to play the great Detroit team of a year ago that was much deeper than now.Quote:

the fact remains the spurs were still in that position due to lousy ass play the entire game. it took the greatest shot in nba history to tie the fuckin game (or did duncans shot put us up by 1?)

SJ helped in 2003 cuz that man had killer instinct, never hesitated to pull the trigger on a three ball in the fourth quarter when we are DOWN by many points
HEDO had trouble catching passes behind the arc cuz he didnt want to unset his feet and resulted in turnovers....its ludacris
SJ was still a freakin baller regardless of whether or not he was a thug, i wish we had kept him, i agree with flash we would have threepeated
As bad as Hedo was in the lakers series no one ever puts any blame on Horry.
He played soft (maybe because he didn't want to beat his old team).

its just weird man i dont think he was on the take, but he was seriously emotionally rattled, much like hedo, he was a big sissy, he wasnt big shot rob he was a big twat
and thats after him and parker combined for like 10 threes a game in the memphis series....pathetic...
That's why I don't like Horry. He went soft on his old team.Quote:

u guys make such a big deal about being a "thug"
in this board, "thug" means person the Spurs don't want.
Cmon now, who cares.
just because they have cornrolls and wear rocawear and playin loud music and being black describes a thug it seems to u guys.
thug passion
If they did resign him, would Manu still be coming off the bench? I doubt that. Manu would probably be a Nugget or Sun right now.
jax would eventually be starting at the 3.
jax
duncan
mohammed
ginobili
parker
:smokin
he wanted to be guaranteed he would start and spurs offered the most money
why he did not resign
he thought he was god

At least thats what I thought went down.....
Just like the Derek Anderson-Steve Smith swap was a stupid short-term investment, letting go of Stephen Jackson and his negative IQ was the right move to make. That, and his agent was a total dickhead.
remember when hedo grew 4 inches during one offseason before the spurs got him?
how by holding a gun to his head
he WANTED TO GUARANTEE THAT HE WOULD START
HE ALSO WAS OFFERED MORE THEN WHAT THE HAWKS OFFERED
HE WAS A FOOL NOT TO SIGN
HIS AGENT REFUSED TO RETURN SPURS CALL
WHY DO YOU THINK HE WANTED TO SIGN?
Some of you guys have short memories. Jackson wouldn't even negotiate with the Spurs--wouldn't even return phone calls. He wanted a max deal--no compromises. You also have a short, nostalgia skewed memory of the way the guy played. Throughout 2003, he had some huge shots most of which went towards bailing the team out of the stupid fucking plays he made to put the team in the hole in the first place. Game 6 of the 2003 finals comes to mind. The guy played like shit for three quarters, and had he not, the Spurs would have run away with it. Instead, he momentarily pulled his head out of his ass, the Spurs won, and suddenly the guys a hero. He was a dramatic wash. And hey, some good he did Reggie Miller's last season. Fucking headband.
No point-four and this team would've just repeated as NBA champs without Jackson.
actually, last summer the spurs could've landed jax but they opted for barry.Quote:

Yep. I'd say things worked out pretty well last season.Quote:

Stephen Jackson was offended what San Antonio was offering him. I don't blame him but I do blame San Antonio.
It's obvious SA was being cheap with SJax 'cause he got more money elsewhere.
GREED
he wound up playing for the hawks :lol
then went to fight in indy :jack
It was a good move. In the long term, they are better off without him.
:lolQuote:

What's funny about that? They didn't have to dish out the cash for him, suffer through his insane amount of TOs and that left cap space to resign Manu.
Waiting for the SJax is the next Jordan thread from Spursdaone....
S. Jackson is San Antonio's Mr. Clutch which was the opposite of Hedo Turkoglu. Whoever thought Turkoglu was better was high.
^
jack had 1 good season
and in the most of the finals he was the nets MVP
id hardly annoint him "mr clutch"
i liked stephen but i wasnt willing to give him that huge ass contract... we basically made the kid
Bingo, mookie. Anybody who actually watched that series will remember how their pucker factor increased whenever Jax touched the ball.Quote:

Cant Be Faded nice signautre
Ah....
Thanks for refreshing my memory...
jax is turnover prone. he can't dribble worth a crap. his three point shooting percentage is average. he got lucky during a finals run and everyone got on his nuts. Maybe we should bring back Jaren Jackson? Sjax is overrated. This thread. the antonio daniels threads. damn, the repetition is so boring.
