Cue the cliff-jumpers (again) :downspin:
:flipoff
You're missing the point. It's not that we're 2-2. It's that a veteran ball club choked away a double-digit lead in the 4th when they had an opportunity to go up 3-1 and essentially ice the series.
It's that we're giving up offensive rebounds at an alarming rate.
It's that if we even hit HALF of our 11 missed FT's, we ice the game easily.
It's that the only players we can rely on offensively are 30, 37 and 36 years old.
And most importantly, it's that Green, Neal, Splitter, Kawhi, Bonner, and Diaw are all almost useless on offense in road playoff games. You can't win that way. The bigger the game, the worse almost all of them play on the road.
It's that even if we win this series (which I think we still do), we're going to play a much better team in the WCF. And then if by some miracle we made it to the Finals, we'd play a Heat team that would probably run us out of the gym.
So yea.
:flag:
Who will you cheer for in the Warriors-Grizzlies series?
I see this as a game that evens up our improbable game 1 win. We've both had a comeback win that really shouldn't have happened. Now let the better team win.
It's not that we are 2-2. It's the way these games have turned out. If not for a flat-out Miracle in game 1 and Curry and Thompson laying eggs in Game 3, this would have been a sweep for the Warriors.
We take the next 2 but I really think Pop needs to get his head out of his ass.. Stop with the small ball.
I just don't understand this logic. Yeah game 1 was a very improbable win and was almost a gift. However, Curry and Thomson laid eggs in game 3 for a reason. Don't discount the effort that Leonard and Green put out on defense in that game. We throughly outplayed them and deserved that win.
And game 4 for the Warriors was like game 1 was for us. So they got an improbable win too. Warriors thoroughly deserved a win in game 2 while we thoroughly deserved the W in game 3. Series is tied for a reason.
It's an even series, which means it is a new series again. Let's not jump off the cliff and just hope Spurs can jump back in game 5. We really shit the bed in OT though with point comparison at 13-3
which is infinitely worse and more dangerous than 3-1
This logic is pointless because you can easily reverse it to say: If not for fluke shooting by Thompson in game 2 and one missed shot in game 4, this would have been a sweep for the Spurs.
But alas, improbable things do happen, things don't always go as expected, and here we are at 2-2.
Yes, we are 2-2 with Duncan and Ginobil being exhausted and the Warriors still have plenty of energy. It's honestly looking really bad for SA.
i dont understand how you can say wide open shots are fluke shooting? thompson hit those shots because our defense was absolute shit.
We'll see. I expect a much better performance in game 5. You really think 36 and 56 (FG% and FT%) is gonna happen again? :lol
G5 is pivotal. Parker will play better, that will make a lot of difference on O.
Who says a fan can't be realistic? Just because I think the Warriors will win doesn't mean I want them to win. Do all fans always have to believe their team will win no matter what? If a Charlotte fan thinks their team will lose to Miami, does that make him or her a bad fan?
I wish these "fans" would jump off the wagon and STAY OFF already. Panic after every loss, it's gettin pretty pathetic.
Calm down already. Quick turnaround between games led to them running out of gas in the 4th & OT. They now have 50+ hours to rest up and be energized by the home crowd. Spurs in 6.
LOL I jump off a cliff after every game we lose? I didn't jump off the cliff after losing game 2, I didn't jump off the cliff after losing games 3, 4, and 5, of the WCF last year, and I didn't jump off the cliff after losing game 6 of the 2005 Finals. I just honestly think the Spurs will lose this series, because Duncan and Ginobili get very tired at the end of the game while the Warriors stars still have energy, Parker is beat up, Pop is panicking, and the role players have no confidence on offense. Those are all good reasons. However I will still watch the games and pray that I'm wrong.
The definition of a sports fan is someone who with enthusiastically devoted to a sports player or team, and I will watch every Spurs game no matter the situation and hope they win. I don't care if the Spurs are losing a series 0-3, I still watch the series and hope the Spurs win and I will always be a Spurs fan. However, I will think the Spurs will lose the series. You just are under the flawed state of mind that you can only be a fan if you're delusional and always think your team will win no matter what.
This reminds me of the 2005 series against the Sonics. We should be able to close these guys out in 6. Especially with our defense playing this way.
Should to able to, you would hope they can do it. This is like 06 Kings too, similar to that one. This game today reminded me of game 4 03 with LA though, we had a lead most of the game and blew it at the end to piss me off all night! We had our shot to go up 3-1 and blew double digit lead and then came back to SA 2-2 instead of in control. This game reminds me so much of that one.
:lol at fans who think a playoff series is so easy to win you can just give away games to good teams over and over again.
Spurs came into Game 3 knowing they had to win, Warriors didn't. Warriors came into Game 4 knowing they had to win, and the Spurs didn't. That's why playoff series go back and forth.
Nobody puts a damned asterisk by any series you don't win in 4 straight. Ups and downs are normal, and last year was a weird fluke. Ride it out, folks. Title teams aren't afraid of 2-2 series, and if we think we can go further, we have to be prepared to win long series.
I'm not certain of any outcome until it happens, but I refuse to worry about this series until we actually lose game 5 -- and I don't think that would happen.
Spurs got this.
as bad as the spurs played today the spurs still should of won the game....and on the road....spurs missed a lot of open shots and fts...game should of been a double digit lead for the spurs....either way spurs are going to win at home in a blowout....just wait and see Tuesday....spurs need to teach these kids a lesson
Ah those are good ones too. Definitely let this one slip away. Our shooting was poor, but I hate that we went back to small ball the majority of the 2nd half too.
let's just hope the results are the same as that one in 03, I'd be thrilled with absolutely blowing them out in Game 6 if we're able to win on Tuesday.
You guys think the cliff jumping is bad now wait until we're getting our shit pushed in by Memphis.
If we make it to Memphis, no doubt it will be a difficult series. I, however, think that all those games will be close. Memphis really doesn't scare me with their lack of shooters. And against the Grizz, we can go back to our bread and butter with Tiago and Duncan manning the low block and running screen after screen. Not saying it will be easy, but I like our odds against them.
We split on the road which is what I was hoping for. This series is going to game 7. Spurs will take game 7 (I can see a spurs game 7 win in overtime).
yep
