Tony Parker denied service at Memphis restaurant
French point guard, Tony Parker, attempted to get a bite to eat at a French-Creole restaurant in Memphis*Friday night when he was denied service. *The Spurs are in town to play the Grizzlies in Game 3 & 4 of the Western Conference Finals on Saturday and Monday. What was first reported as a rumor was later confirmed on Twitter by the head chef of Restaurant Iris, Kelly English. Restaurant Iris later joined in on Twitter hash tagging the Grizzlies playoff catchphrase “We Don’t Bluff.” The popular restaurant was*named “Best Restaurant,” “Best Service,” and “Best Chef” by Memphis Magazine in 2010 thru 2012.

Better than poisoning him.
-
Re: Tony Parker denied service at Memphis restaurant
Good! Now Tony will be playing pissed and hungry tomorrow! Spurs by 10!
-
Re: Tony Parker denied service at Memphis restaurant
So first Tony Allen pulls a bitch move by flopping, and now the city of Memphis joins in on the bitchness. :lol
-
Re: Tony Parker denied service at Memphis restaurant
If I were a professional athlete, I would never eat at a restaurant, especially not one in a rival city. What if someone deliberately puts steroids or something in your food to make you test positive?
-
Re: Tony Parker denied service at Memphis restaurant
HAHAHAHAHAHHAA that dumb fuck just screwed the Grizz. Parker bout to shit all over Memphis.

It is a fucking game for Gods sakes lol! Some go way too far. Money is money, he pays he should eat unless he did something personal to the owner.
-
Re: Tony Parker denied service at Memphis restaurant
lol Memphis taking things a little too seriously and extending fandom past basketball. classic "never been there before" type move.
-
Re: Tony Parker denied service at Memphis restaurant
I bet he wouldn't have denied Boris tbh.
-
Re: Tony Parker denied service at Memphis restaurant
Why are they still saying we don't bluff especially after tony Allen bluffed. Why do they just keep lying

:hungry: Tony :lol
it's the playoffs ! and they are angry
-
Re: Tony Parker denied service at Memphis restaurant
LOL San Antonio should let them sleep on the street.
You're going to deny me food? I'll deny you a place to stay. Upping the ante SA.
Seriously this is low class. This puts a shit stained on Memphis as a city, forget that shitty restaurant.

Re: Tony Parker denied service at Memphis restaurant

Re: Tony Parker denied service at Memphis restaurant
I certainly hope that San Antonio's business owners don't respond in kind.
-
Re: Tony Parker denied service at Memphis restaurant
Tbh, dude is dumb because Tony probably would've left a huge tip.
-
Re: Tony Parker denied service at Memphis restaurant
Classless and exactly what I expect out of a city that hasn't been there before. No worries though, I don't think Indiana or Miami will deny Tony Parker service in 2 weeks.
-
Re: Tony Parker denied service at Memphis restaurant
The grind house just became Tony's out house imho. Spurs by 14.

The thread is misleading. The Tweet above clearly indicates Tony was denied service because the restaurant was full -- not because he's the Grizzlies' opponent.

Meh if you're going to act like a child, you get treated like one. Fuck them. Specially a cocky team like this.

The restaurant was full :lol drama queens

Re: Tony Parker denied service at Memphis restaurant
Tony should shit on this place in his postgame presser after we win. That would make them think twice about that decision.

Re: Tony Parker denied service at Memphis restaurant
I guess they take 4 hours to eat there meals.. Shit, it'll be a 30 to 45 minute wait.

There was an article about Zach Randolph tweeted about where he can possibly find a nice restaurant to eat before game 1, had no complaints so far, so maybe had a good time eating in San Antonio :hungry:

Re: Tony Parker denied service at Memphis restaurant
Maybe he put up the #wedontbluff because TP was being a prima-donna when he was turned away? I mean, maybe he busted out the classic arrogant celebrity card of "Do you know who I am?" I highly doubt it because that is so un-Spurs like but then again, he did bang another man's wife while already married to a even hotter wife of his own.

You can't imagine a situation in which the restaurant was legitimately full, and Parker didn't want to wait around so they left. And when the owner was asked about it via twitter, he saw it as an opportunity to create good will with the locals by posturing that he had told Parker to fuck off. Seems perfectly imaginable to me. Non story.

It could be either and unless Tony takes it personally it doesn't really matter. However, by pandering to the local crowd through the "We don't bluff" stuff, the owner did delegitamized his argument that it was strictly motivated by a full restaurant even if that was the case.

Wow, and I thought NBA egos were large. Kelly English...does anybody know this fool other than esoteric Memphis food critics?

No shit, it's gotta be worse than being a cop. I wouldn't go anywhere other than a Chipotle/Subway type place where they don't know you're coming and you watch them prepare your food. Other than that I'm sending the Asian trainer out to get me some takeout under a fake name or some shit

HGH is a protein. It'd break down in the stomach so it wouldn't really be much of a concern. But, replace HGH with poo, and you could potentially get some issues that might prevent him from playing a game or two.

Exactly what I was thinking. I read about this we don't bluff thing and it makes no sense. Do they think the rest of the league sees them as not worthy? I guess it's best to stay with the grit, grimy, slime angle.

Exactly, that would be like not serving someone because they have different political or religious beliefs. You do that and you suddenly alienate others of the same mindset, eliminating tons of potential business and giving yourself a bad name.

Re: Tony Parker denied service at Memphis restaurant
i mean, they're the opposing team. i wouldn't anticipate their home city being real friendly to us, considering we're their opponents and we just went up 2-0 against them.

If the restaurant really was full, that's one thing. If he was denied because he was a Spur, that's just childish.

Re: Tony Parker denied service at Memphis restaurant
A friend of mine who lives in Memphis says that this restaurant is really popular (and good) and you need to get table reservations several weeks in advance.
Could have been that it was just full as well.
Also mentioned having run into TP at a different restaurant earlier in the season with over players she didn't recognize, restaurant was Felicia Suzanne's"

That would be my main concern as a coach or player. If I were a coach, I'd have the team's trainers or other staff (who are probably unrecognizable to anyone) go and get the food - i.e., dozens of meals - for everyone, and then bring it back to the hotel or team headquarters.
Without people knowing that it's for a pro sports team, there'd be no reason to sabotage the food.
