Re: Tony Parker denied service at Memphis restaurant
That's ok. The whole team is eating at the Grind House tonight.

Re: Tony Parker denied service at Memphis restaurant
I guess theres only one thing you can do then: win this thing in 5 games or less so you don't have to go back to Memphis.
Seriously, stay classy Memphis.

Re: Tony Parker denied service at Memphis restaurant
Honestly, if I were a pro athlete on the road, I'd probably send someone out for food or cook it myself. There are WAY too many psychos out there.

They could have easily avoided any drama by leading off with this tweet and leaving it at that. Now it just sounds like they are back pedaling.
Exactly. This is beyond just low class. This is "all your taste is in your mouth - NO class"

Aaah the good old days when Portland actually cared about having a top notch basketball team.

Re: Tony Parker denied service at Memphis restaurant
You have a celebrity from France trying to come to your French restaurant! You tell your staff be a seat an table an let him sit on their backs if you have to. He is fucking stupid Idiot.

It could take up to 30 minutes just to get your food.

Thank goodness, you would never see this today in Memphis (the ashtrays, that is). :toast

Re: Tony Parker denied service at Memphis restaurant
I'm just wondering didn't they have a waiting line, in that case Maybe Tony would have left of his own accord, or do they just send people off if there is no room, I don't see any business doing that anywhere, not good for business.

Exactly, that would be like not serving someone because they have different political or religious beliefs. You do that and you suddenly alienate others of the same mindset, eliminating tons of potential business and giving yourself a bad name.

Re: Tony Parker denied service at Memphis restaurant
i mean, they're the opposing team. i wouldn't anticipate their home city being real friendly to us, considering we're their opponents and we just went up 2-0 against them.
i wouldn't take it personally, the way some of you here seem to be doing.

If the restaurant really was full, that's one thing. If he was denied because he was a Spur, that's just childish.

Re: Tony Parker denied service at Memphis restaurant
Shoulda made a reservation.
-
Re: Tony Parker denied service at Memphis restaurant
restaurants often have party rooms, don't they?
-
Re: Tony Parker denied service at Memphis restaurant
I see on twitter Matt Moore, is ripping Michael De Leon for writing an article on the subject of critisizing the restaurant's handling of it.
-
Re: Tony Parker denied service at Memphis restaurant
Dumb. Can't even give the paying customer some food cause he plays for another team. What idiots.
-
Re: Tony Parker denied service at Memphis restaurant
I Can't believe the spurs are stupid enough to eat out on the road in the playoffs.
-
Re: Tony Parker denied service at Memphis restaurant
A friend of mine who lives in Memphis says that this restaurant is really popular (and good) and you need to get table reservations several weeks in advance.
Could have been that it was just full as well.
Also mentioned having run into TP at a different restaurant earlier in the season with over players she didn't recognize, restaurant was Felicia Suzanne's"

That would be my main concern as a coach or player. If I were a coach, I'd have the team's trainers or other staff (who are probably unrecognizable to anyone) go and get the food - i.e., dozens of meals - for everyone, and then bring it back to the hotel or team headquarters.
Without people knowing that it's for a pro sports team, there'd be no reason to sabotage the food.
