CBS : DWYANE WADE, now the dirtiest player the league
Quote:
Someone has to say it, so I'll be the bad guy. No, wait. Dwyane Wade is the bad guy.
And that's how I'll say it:
Dwyane Wade is the bad guy. He's the worst guy in the NBA, when it comes to bad-guy stuff. Dirtiest player in the league? Yeah. That's Dwyane Wade. Look no farther for The Next Bruce Bowen :lol , because he's here and headed to the Hall of Fame. Rare that a player as good as Dwyane Wade would be as devious, as dirty, as Dwyane Wade ... but there we are.
Dwyane Wade is the most devious, the most dirty player in the NBA.

I am now thinking what will be Pop's plan with Wade?
Will he be guarding Parker?
I don't consider him as dirty.

Re: CBS : DWYANE WADE, now the dirtiest player the league
He's not dirty, he's just a huge flopper. And that's more annoying to me when officials actually fall for it.
-
Re: CBS : DWYANE WADE, now the dirtiest player the league
The Heat probably rotate Chalmers, Wade, and Lebron on Parker. No one can guard him all night on their own. It was commented last night that the person guarding Parker has to fight through more than 75 screens a night. Wade with a bum knee would not be able to deal with that the whole night.

Re: CBS : DWYANE WADE, now the dirtiest player the league
One kick on TP's calf ends our quest for 5th bling. The three must be healthy to dominate.
-
Re: CBS : DWYANE WADE, now the dirtiest player the league
That elbow was dirty and he should have been suspended. Proof the NBA wants Miami in the Finals.
-
Re: CBS : DWYANE WADE, now the dirtiest player the league
I still have yet to hear what he was attempting to do with Stephenson.
He jumped up from behind and elbowed the guy in the back of the head. While they were moving back down court? There was no potential rebound or lose ball?
What was that? Why?
This will be one of many threads to come on why people don't like the Heat. Good for the soul type stuff... And then Indiana wins the series...

Re: CBS : DWYANE WADE, now the dirtiest player the league
Here's another disturbing article about Wade
Quote:
Dwyane Wade has two championship rings, an Olympic gold medal, a Finals MVP award, eight All-Star appearances, a portfolio of endorsement deals from Switzerland to China, an acclaimed book on fatherhood, a renowned fashion sense and the adulation of millions of NBA fans across the world.
But his reputation within the league itself may not be in such good shape.
A series of questionable plays over the past two years seem to have harmed Wade’s stature among his peers. Some, such as well-known adversary Rajon Rondo, said Wade is guilty of “dirty plays.”
The latest is Charlotte Bobcats guard Ramon Sessions. Wade kicked Sessions in the groin area after Sessions committed a reach-in foul on Wade during the Miami Heat’s 105-92 win Wednesday night. Wade claimed it was inadvertent.
“I thought he did it on purpose,” Sessions told reporters after the game.
Wade was not called for a foul, but the league suspended him for a game the following day.
Standing alone, this is just another testy moment in a game that was tight at the time. But looking at Wade’s actions over the past few seasons, it is part of a case file that is building and increasingly getting him unsavory attention.
Here are the most memorable incidents:
• During a game in Boston in the 2011 regular season, Wade was hit with a flagrant foul for shoving Kevin Garnett after Garnett had leveled Mike Miller with a screen.
• In the 2011 playoffs, Wade got wrapped up with Rondo while going for a loose ball. After Rondo elbowed Wade, he appeared to stick his leg out and sweep Rondo to the court. It resulted in Rondo dislocating his elbow. At the time, Wade said it was inadvertent.
• Wade broke Kobe Bryant’s nose, raking him from behind during an unusual physical play during the 2012 All-Star Game. Bryant had fouled Wade twice previously in the game.
• During a regular-season game last April in Miami, Wade threw a forearm at Chicago Bulls guard Rip Hamilton after Hamilton bumped him trying to create space on the perimeter. Wade was called for a flagrant foul.
• During the first round of the playoffs last season, Wade threw the shoe of New York Knicks guard Mike Bibby off the court after Bibby lost it getting a rebound.
• During the second round of the playoffs, Wade blindsided Indiana Pacers guard Darren Collison on a fast break. Wade, who seemed to be reacting to not getting a shooting foul moments earlier, was assessed a flagrant foul.
Often, it has seemed Wade is caught reacting. A hard Garnett screen, a Rondo elbow, a foul or, in many cases, frustration at officials. Wade is an emotional player, and at times those emotions may push him over the line.
During a playoff game last May in Indianapolis, for example, Wade got into a heated exchange with coach Erik Spoelstra on the bench during a timeout after Spoelstra questioned Wade’s play.
In a recent interview with ESPN’s Israel Gutierrez about his recovery from knee surgery, Wade talked about how anger can help his lift during a game.
“Even though I might not get as high as I did when I was a rookie, I can still get over the rim when need be -- especially when I get angry,” Wade said.
Especially over the past few seasons, Wade’s anger has often been manifested in bouts with officials. He has become one of the league’s most constant complainers. Wade has occasionally been guilty of not getting back on defense because he’s allowed himself to be delayed to complain about non-calls. On Christmas Day, as he was on his way to the locker room to get treatment after a minor leg injury, Wade stopped to complain to officials about not drawing a foul on the previous play.
Like with the questionable fouls, Wade often stops short of being aggressive enough to draw discipline.
All of this is unbecoming of Wade’s stature in the game. He did not behave like this during the early years of his career as he soared in popularity and earned the respect of the league. As he’s become a veteran, his personality has appeared to change somewhat on the floor.
In that way, he has been compared by some league executives to Garnett, whose trash-talking and menacing have come to define the later stages of his career. This is not endearing to Garnett, though he’s never seemed to care whatsoever.
That is not the case for Wade, who has always valued his reputation as someone who sets an example. The one he’s been setting with this spate of incidents is not fashionable at all.

Bruce Bowen is on Mike & Mike right now incoherently defending D-Flop
:dizzy

I like Bruce, but he seems to have an agenda on ESPN now (whether his or that of ESPN).

I didn't know about all of those incidents. Seeing them all together, and the time frame involved, it sounds a lot like a guy who needs to take a break from the steroids.

even Spoesltra knew about his dirty tricks.
sad, I used to like Wade & cheered for the Heat vs Dallas in the finals before.

Re: CBS : DWYANE WADE, now the dirtiest player the league
Some of his plays are just a result of playing hard and shit happening, a la Bruce Bowen. That elbow the other day was just plain dirty. No way around that.
-
Re: CBS : DWYANE WADE, now the dirtiest player the league
Never saw Bowen throw an elbow to someone's head, intentionally or not. He certainly never flagrant fouled someone because he didn't get a call.
-
Re: CBS : DWYANE WADE, now the dirtiest player the league
they say Bowen is dirty because he would intentionally plant a foot underneath opponent's body when he's rebounding :(
-
Re: CBS : DWYANE WADE, now the dirtiest player the league
The thing I don't like is when he is struggling the media always brings up his fake injuries, then talks about how he is such a warrior he is and he himself would never bring up his injuries, when in fact he and miami pr probably just leaked the story behind the scenes.

Players step on each others feet all the time. They only pointed it out when someone stepped on Bowen's foot.

If the Spurs believe that defense wins championship, The Heat's Wade & LeBron have another theory.
Quote:
For LeBron James and Dwyane Wade, flopping wins championships.
Sure, that can be construed as a bit extreme, but what else are we supposed to believe?
The two Miami Heat superstars haven't done anything to quell the cries of those who would call them dirty floppers. They've actually perpetuated them.
"Some guys have been doing it for years, just trying to get an advantage," James said of flopping (via Brian Windhorst of ESPN.com). "Any way you can get an advantage over the opponent to help your team win, so be it."
Normally, LeBron's win-at-all-costs mantra would be cause for further adoration. "Oh how chivalrous he is," the world would cry. Nothing about his cavalier approach to flopping is valiant, though. Or normal. Or, let's face it, acceptable.
This is the same LeBron who refuted Chicago Bulls head coach Tom Thibodeau's claim that he was a flop artist.
"I don't need to flop," he said at the time. "I play an aggressive game. I don't flop. I've never been one of those guys."
Just like Ray Allen has never been one to shoot threes. Or Chris "Birdman" Andersen has never been one to get tattoos.
Flopping can be looked at as a form of cheating. Players are feigning or exaggerating contact to manipulate the outcome of a game. That's what fouls, free throws and changes in possession do. They impact the score, they help sway momentum. They aid in determining a winner.
And we're supposed to believe that's alright just because it's effective?
In an ideal world, LeBron would stand alone. Sadly the world isn't perfect, and LeBron isn't alone. His buddy Wade is right there with him. :lol
"It happens," Wade said. "We would have no NBA possibly if they got rid of all the flopping."

One big time flopper I have noticed is that POS Battier. Also you can still see his brain through his skull that's weird!
-
Re: CBS : DWYANE WADE, now the dirtiest player the league
Chris Benoit all over again!
-
Re: CBS : DWYANE WADE, now the dirtiest player the league
Battier is the worst on the team. That he gets away with stepping under guys in the air and falling down so often is completely beyond me. The refs in this league have completely lost track of what's a block and what's a charge.

On the one hand Battier is noted as a savvy veteran, great defender and decent citizen off court as far as I know. He is clearly getting away with some BS though. For example, he grabs guys on screens then falls down and the refs buy it every time. The good news is he is doing it against IN not us. Assuming Miami advances, we can hope the league is reviewing game film and will put a stop to it. For example, pretty sure that happened last year to the epic flopper Harden in the Finals.

Re: CBS : DWYANE WADE, now the dirtiest player the league
As a Spurs fan I want to stay classy, but he is a Fukin flopper and dirty-ass player. what he did to Rondo is unjustifiable and made me want to stop playing hoops after seeing the elbow. F* D-wade, i hate his guts, same with chalmers and cole, and i really hope the Spurs destroy the cHEATers in the finals
-
Re: CBS : DWYANE WADE, now the dirtiest player the league
so he is at the flop level of a prime Ginobili. I don't see the problem?
He is capable of big dirty injuring fouls, which is more worrying but he won't be guarding Parker so not really a big deal. Battier and ChildMolester on the other hard...

Re: CBS : DWYANE WADE, now the dirtiest player the league
Imho Bruce was probably just returning the favor. I remember a couple years ago, DWade got injured landing on Bruce's foot. And people were saying he did it on purpose but DWade actually defended Him. Of course, this was when he was still a nice guy. Iirc, his being a dirt player started during the series with Indy.
