If Manu doesn't have a big series I think we may be doomed.
The Miami D will do everything to stop Parker...
Tim Duncan will fight valiantly...
The Finals Lights are unproven ground for our youngsters.
This will be a battle of wills...
And despite all his faults and diminishing skills.
Manu's well runs deep.
Manu will be knocking down threes like it's game 5 of the WCF last year.
yeah, Manu's going to have get 2005-y for the Spurs to have a legit shot at dem EJ Johnsons tbh.
He's just gotta stop pressing so hard.
Sometimes when I watch him... it reminds of when I try to spit a free style while I still have the memory of other free styles that I've spit that were spectacular.
It's hard to be free in the moment when you are carrying the weight and comparing them while you are creating for right now.
He has to play no minded, and let the spirit of what he is doing come out.
They won´t be.
It´s a lock the FO will resign him. We just made it to the NBA finals. This group deserves te end it together if they want to. And i think they are friends and they will.
There is no way Ginobili is not back for next season.
.
Manu has struggled, and fair-weather fans have dismissed him already. But the Finals are just the thing Manu was built for.
Whether too old, tired, or whatever you wanna call it, his will, will overcome.
He will rise again..

I'm more worried about Manu's passing in the Finals. LeBron, Wade and Chalmers all have quick hands with passing lanes. Hopefully Manu can adjust to the Heat's quick rotation and exploit it.
Unfortunately, I don't think he'll do much.... his body is just fading away, dude has the will but not the power to do what he used to...... he should be a creator and nothing more.
Never doubt Manu, tbh.
I thought by the thread title that Manu was hurt again, tbh.
I am definitely doubting his abilities at the moment - not his heart or desire to win. I am praying that Manu has more than he's shown the last few months. He was fantastic to start the season, then was completely derailed by injuries again and has never had any sustainable success after that happened.
Spurs need Manu. They need his scoring. They need his rebounding. They need his ability to run the offense. Let's all hope that Manu, with this rest and focus can do what we all have seen before.
Yeah there's no way he doesn't get re-sesigned after making it to the finals. He's been playing like shit for the most part this season but dam I hope he just catches fire for this one last series. GINOBILI deserves a Finals MVP too :cry. It's highly unlikely but that's all he needs on his basketball resume to be complete, the man has won everything. LORD give my shooting gawd one last GREAT series :worthy:
Manu has shown bits here and there that he still has game. Most probably he will show up hopefully he can show up for four games..
he's looked pretty damn healthy the last couple of rounds. His shooting has been horrendous but at least his shooting struggles doesn't seem to be attributed to health.
Not sure if that's a good or bad thing tbh :lol
@JrHenandez, A Manu Finals MVP would be awesome. I have faith.
I don't expect him to score much, especially off the dribble against Miami, but his passing is going to play an essential role, as well as his spot-up 3-point shooting, tbh..
His playmaking/rebounding are his biggest assets so far as the season has gone on and his abilities have faded. However, his ability to make some 3's, as HH said, is so key to the Spurs having any chance.
Manu is the man.
Is Manu the best passing 2 guard in the NBA now? In history?
9 days off now. Manu will be 100% Manu in the Finals. Expect greatness.
I love Manu but its evident his game was the first to go of the big three. He is nowhere near the Manu we have been used to seeing in the playoffs. Yes, he's special and will be a hall of famer. But just doing the little things right and hitting some shots here and there will not be enough to offset his turnovers and beat Miami. We need the super Manu badly.
We need you Manu!!
I have very different feelings/expectatives regarding Manu for the upcoming series.
1. The most optimistic is that he has a hidden injury that these 9 days off will heal and we will see Ginobili at full force again.
2. Manu is a shade of himself but magically comes out with 4 great games.
3. He keeps shooting like shit but still has a possitive impact. This is the less i expect from him.
If Manu continues his TO spree that he's been on these playoffs, the Heat will have a slam dunk contest against us.
They all get old. Watching one of my sports heros fade away. One more for the Gipper!
That Angry Manu clip gives me chills.
But I think playing that way is counterproductive for his game.
I feel him though, as his body is not allowing him to do what he used to be able to do, like a Boxer who still sees the openings but is a smidgen late to pull the trigger.
But he can't play frustrated.
That kills your ability to act even more.
I wish Phil Jackson would give him a Zen book.
Manu always had some Jordan in him.
Some perspective:
Career playoff stats: 30.5 MPG, 20.3 PER, .176 WS/48
2011/2012 playoffs: 27.9 MPG, 17.0 PER, .120 WS/48
2012/2013 playoffs: 25.8 MPG. 20.7 PER, .176 WS/48 (before last game so down a lil bit now I'm guessing)
He clearly struggles scoring but can still be a very efficient valuable player through his other contributions. Most importantly his 32.2 AST% is a lot higher than ever before and even just by looking at the games I think it's still evident that he makes players around him better.
Other stuff like steals, blocks and defensive rebounding is also better currently than his playoff career avr.

We can expect that he'll give everything he has this series.
Ginobili was born to perform under the bright lights. He will be ready. No doubt. He will sacrifice his body for one more Championship.
Don't doubt many. Period
:cry:cry:cry
I probably would have a really shitty week when manu retires :cry:cry
Same here, might be a couple weeks for me. Dude is my favorite player for many reasons. His sacrifice to be a bench player when he's a superstar starter with better stats anywhere else, his unselfishness, global winner, his heart and desire, humbleness, brass balls, team first attitude, etc. :(
Anyone who loves Manu don't really wanna see him score. You want to see him greatness at creating plays. His sneakyness on defense. He made Blair look like Armare Stoudimare with his p&r with him. I can't see how the Spurs hasn't went back to that.
Manu has always been worth the price of admission. He'll be missed when he's gone.
I'll never doubt Manu. I expect this thread to be bumped at least once during the finals.

Watching clips from the RJ era and last years WCF still makes me cringe. :cry
Ginobiliiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiii :flag:
The NBA Finals? Manu Ginobili is going to give it every thing hes got.
Shit this thread has me excited!!! I can't wait!!! And that Avy in the pic above me is sick, one of the greatest teams of all time.
Manu Ginobili is still my 2nd favorite Spur next to Duncan.
Parker is third
Man he may not be the Spurs highest scorer but how many times did he bail us out?
Ah what a fantastic picture game winning shot right?... guy in the background with the Manu jersey already knows it's good... coach Mark Jackson face is supremely glum.
Ha I think if that would have been me.. I would have been yelling at Manu to miss, I don't care if it's poor etiquette at that moment.
:lmao I thought this thread was about Ginobili checking into a clinic :lmao
Statistically, it's quite possible. Let's say those players have these averages for the Finals:
Duncan: 21 points, 10 rebounds, 3 assists
Parker: 24 points, 3 rebounds, 8 assists
Bosh: 18 points, 5 rebounds, 2 assists
James: 27 points, 8 rebounds, 9 assists
That's equal across the board, and not out of the realm of possibility. Sure, Bosh should get more rebounds against the Spurs, and Duncan may not score that much. Still possible, though.
OP sucks but the video is great. HD is a thing of beauty.:toast
:( these videos, the memories, tbh:(..
Just noticed Kool Bob Love was banned. Why? :lol
Just ran into this. Lots of good memories. Kind of sad that Manu's on the tail end of his career. This would make a great retirement highlight video for him. I know he's had his faults and he's been turnover prone but he's been absolutely amazing too and his court vision. After watching it I'm amazed he's still playing at the age of 36. The way he plays he should've probably been done at 30 or 31. I still love the block and stare down he does on KG although there's too many to choose from. Ah the memories. I miss the prime Manu and I'm especially going to miss Manu when he does leave.
