Re: Manu Ginobili clinic..
Is Manu the best passing 2 guard in the NBA now? In history?
Re: Manu Ginobili clinic..
9 days off now. Manu will be 100% Manu in the Finals. Expect greatness.

Re: Manu Ginobili clinic..
I love Manu but its evident his game was the first to go of the big three. He is nowhere near the Manu we have been used to seeing in the playoffs. Yes, he's special and will be a hall of famer. But just doing the little things right and hitting some shots here and there will not be enough to offset his turnovers and beat Miami. We need the super Manu badly.
We need you Manu!!

Yep, this is what I am hoping. The 9 days off should be helpful to our senior citizens, tbh. It works out perfectly for us, tbh. It's almost as if this run was meant to be.
Re: Manu Ginobili clinic..
I have very different feelings/expectatives regarding Manu for the upcoming series.
1. The most optimistic is that he has a hidden injury that these 9 days off will heal and we will see Ginobili at full force again.
2. Manu is a shade of himself but magically comes out with 4 great games.
3. He keeps shooting like shit but still has a possitive impact. This is the less i expect from him.
Re: Manu Ginobili clinic..
If Manu continues his TO spree that he's been on these playoffs, the Heat will have a slam dunk contest against us.
Re: Manu Ginobili clinic..
They all get old. Watching one of my sports heros fade away. One more for the Gipper!
Re: Manu Ginobili clinic..
That Angry Manu clip gives me chills.
But I think playing that way is counterproductive for his game.
I feel him though, as his body is not allowing him to do what he used to be able to do, like a Boxer who still sees the openings but is a smidgen late to pull the trigger.
But he can't play frustrated.
That kills your ability to act even more.
I wish Phil Jackson would give him a Zen book.
Manu always had some Jordan in him.
Re: Manu Ginobili clinic..
Some perspective:
Career playoff stats: 30.5 MPG, 20.3 PER, .176 WS/48
2011/2012 playoffs: 27.9 MPG, 17.0 PER, .120 WS/48
2012/2013 playoffs: 25.8 MPG. 20.7 PER, .176 WS/48 (before last game so down a lil bit now I'm guessing)
He clearly struggles scoring but can still be a very efficient valuable player through his other contributions. Most importantly his 32.2 AST% is a lot higher than ever before and even just by looking at the games I think it's still evident that he makes players around him better.
Other stuff like steals, blocks and defensive rebounding is also better currently than his playoff career avr.

Re: Manu Ginobili clinic..
We can expect that he'll give everything he has this series.
Re: Manu Ginobili clinic..
Ginobili was born to perform under the bright lights. He will be ready. No doubt. He will sacrifice his body for one more Championship.

I love how Prince doesn't even flinch as the pass sails right under his gonads. Then he just swivels around like nothing just happened and hardly even waits for the layup to be made before nonchalantly heading back up court.

Thanks for the numbers, I knew he was playing a lot better than what most scoring outputs watchers thought but I didn't expect a 20+ PER.

Yeah, they were dead in the water regardless of what the score showed each game; that was evident in their doggin it each time down the court and zero transition D. Most likely one of those scenarios where the Spurs shred you into psychological wreckage.

Same here, might be a couple weeks for me. Dude is my favorite player for many reasons. His sacrifice to be a bench player when he's a superstar starter with better stats anywhere else, his unselfishness, global winner, his heart and desire, humbleness, brass balls, team first attitude, etc. :(
Re: Manu Ginobili clinic..
Anyone who loves Manu don't really wanna see him score. You want to see him greatness at creating plays. His sneakyness on defense. He made Blair look like Armare Stoudimare with his p&r with him. I can't see how the Spurs hasn't went back to that.
Re: Manu Ginobili clinic..
Manu has always been worth the price of admission. He'll be missed when he's gone.
