Re: I want a Spurs v Heat Finals. You should too.
Some of you guys are so "honorable." Who cares if the opponent is injured, or the competition is weaker. I disagree about the low-risk, low-reward, high-risk, high reward. It's low/high risk, HIGH REWARD either way. A championship is a championship in the books - no asterisk beside it. Take the path of least resistance - why should I have a heart attack watching Lebron gain more notoriety and possibly climb further up the GOAT list when I can sit back and relax knowing that SA can defend IND and has way more firepower.
And just because Wade, Bosh, Allen and Battier are struggling against IND doesn't mean they'll struggle with SAS. Completely different team and series. They'll feel a sense of relief getting through IND and be re-vitalized for SAS who can't punish them down low - because TD no longer plays the low post and Splitter is not exactly punishing down low. It's all about match ups - MEM was a sweep when everyone expected a tough series. GSW was difficult when theorically they shouldn't have had much problems with them. Low-post vs small-ball. MIA with Lebron is the best small-ball team there is.

Right on! If Miami "Big" 3 all died right before the series it's still just as sweet to me! We can always argue we handle them even with those three anyway.
I could give a damn though, we're going to buzz saw through the team, refs, Stern, whatever the hell they put in our way!

We shouldn't sacrifice potentially winning a championship for the hype of a single playoff series...give me a break.
There's a reason Parker is texting George Hill pointers on how to beat the Heat. And there's a reason Duncan is also allegedly texting Hibbert for the same reason.
Because the Spurs are smart. They don't want to play the Heat and potentially lose. They want to play the Pacers and have a better chance at winning another championship. And we should too.
not say that Spurs are not secertly rooting for Pacers especialy with Hill on that team ...but I dont think they fear the Heat. Mavs were not scared in 2011 and they had none of the proven championship mettle. I say they would not mind the easier road but I think they would welcome the challenge the team has more heart than the fanbase tbh ...

Sorry but Spurs don't have a Dirk they can go to for an almost automatic bucket. Pardon me, if I don't put Parker in that category. I've seen him shut down too often to want to risk playing the Heat. Spurs have no Prime Duncan and MIA has the prime superstar on their roster.
IND needs to have P. George or Stevenson lower their heads, drive to the basket and toss it up there. Chances are even if they miss, Hibbert or West will clean up the glass (especially with Birdman out) or they'll get fouled. This passing around the perimeter runs down the shot clock - better hope for an offensive rebound than a shot clock violation/turnover. And seriously, why can't they get Hibbert the ball most trips down? George Hill, that last game was pitiful.

Sure Parker cant shoot as good as Dirk but Parker scoring just as effectively coming off the WCF ...
I get you respecting the Heat especially Lebron I just think the players have more confidence than you do ....are you disputing this?!
Re: I want a Spurs v Heat Finals. You should too.
I wanted the Spurs to beat the Heat.
INDIANA, is easier to beat though because game 1 starts in S.A. HOME COURT ADVANTAGE is always a PLUS !

2 actually. The first one vs the Heat. And lost.

I would hope that the players have more confidence than I do, but the premise of this thread is that the op wants the heat and I should too. I disagree. Plus, Lebron not even making the Finals will put a serious dent in all this hype about him matching up to MJ. What he's bypassed Hakeem, Kobe, Shaq, Duncan, Bird, Magic, etc. to be compared to MJ? Everyone will forget the streak, forget the 4 MVPs and be thinking "only 1 ring out of all that"? Riley will be forced to re-think his roster as Hibbert is going nowhere (and George will only get better), Rose will be back and who knows where Bynum will land (if you think Hibbert gives MIA problems, Bynum will give them more - he just needs a decent team around him).
Re: I want a Spurs v Heat Finals. You should too.
Fuck that shit I want the Spurs championship to be like the Heat team. "Success without having to work hard for it" Bring on Indy
Re: I want a Spurs v Heat Finals. You should too.
I don't care who we play, tbf. I also think it would be a HELLUVA lot funnier if The Heat lost to The Pacers, and didn't even get to The Finals. The Pacers would've obviously proved themselves worthy enough to be our opponents... so I don't understand what the big deal is really. ... I thought Spurs fans weren't supposed to care about BS-Superstar hype? I know I sure as Hell don't.
Re: I want a Spurs v Heat Finals. You should too.
whatever team is easier to beat is team I want. I dont want an entertaining series, I was a sweep

Re: I want a Spurs v Heat Finals. You should too.
agre with OP. Spurs Heat would be the finals to watch. so many stars. old and new. I hope this happens
Re: I want a Spurs v Heat Finals. You should too.
beating Heat > beating Pacers > losing to Pacers > losing to Heat
Bring on the Heat!
Re: I want a Spurs v Heat Finals. You should too.
You know what, this is the Spurs year to win it for Timmy!
I think the Spurs team can beat either Indiana or Heat in a 7 game series.
Re: I want a Spurs v Heat Finals. You should too.
NBA teams are 45-18 with homecourt in the Finals, with identical winning percentages before (71.4) and after (71.4) the league switched to the 2-3-2 format in 1985 to cut down on cross-country travel. The home team is 14-3 in Finals Game 7s, including the aforementioned Spurs victory over Detroit.
Dumb thread tbh
Re: I want a Spurs v Heat Finals. You should too.
Personally I wanna see Kawhi shut down Paul George tbh. Over! rated! *clap clap clapclapclap*
:lol Phag with his slow motion dribble can't handle the ball without carrying it lol.
:lol or turning it over
:lol NBA/TNT trying to sell him as a superstar
Re: I want a Spurs v Heat Finals. You should too.
Someone try to tell me that a game 1 win against the Pacers would have tasted more delicious than this.
Re: I want a Spurs v Heat Finals. You should too.
So, if we got to pick again, would anyone here still want a Spurs/Pacers finals?

In any outcome in which the Spurs win Game 6 or 7, I'd stick with the Spurs-Heat.
Any other outcome and I'd have preferred the Pacers. I'd much rather the Spurs lose to the Pacers than the Heat, if it came to that.
