Jesus Christ, faggots are a sensitive group.
I certainly wouldn't be offended if a homo was saying something and then said, "no hetero".
Look, let's not defend Hibbert here. The reason we wouldn't be offended by a gay person saying "no hetero" is because we didn't face some of the persecution they did for their sexual orientation. However, it annoys me that people try to define what's offensive to them without caring about the million other things people could find offensive. It's their thing that matters and they only get on their soap box for that. They aren't champions for equality, they are champions for only what they care about.
Last I checked this is still a free country and you can feel however the hell you want about anybody..
Sure you can feel however you want, but their are rules. Your company has by laws and guidelines on how you represent them. You can feel however you want, but how and where you voice your opinion can have ramifications. If you don't like that, go work for someone with different rules that match up with your beliefs.
People hate political correctness, but a huge portion of the population still gets upset if Christianity is promoted through the public sphere.
The no homo comment should amount to a huge fine. The motherf*cker will not. Neither should result to suspension. If so Stern should be investigated for fixing games, for big market or not. Seriously Spurs and other small market teams should file a lawsuit for unfair treatment and maybe reverse that 250k penalty.
While I'm not placed to comment on whether it actually causes offence or not, I think it's disappointing if "no homo" is considered offensive. It seems to me to be a more specific way of saying "no pun intended" or "that's what she said" - puerile but not bigoted, just pointing out in a nudge-wink way possible sexual connotations in remarks being said about someone else of the same sex. "Fag" or "faggot" on the other hand is clearly unacceptable and simply a slur.
of course.
But the problem is here that Hibbert spoke an NBA employee/representative speaking on a nationally televised NBA platform. How he "feels" privately is irrelevant.
If Birdman were to say "I beat up that nigga Hibbert all night long", would be the same mistake.
The apology and fine is more than enough beyond that just gives fuel to these groups that want to have a hissy fit anytime anyone breaks wind in their direction.. People are waaaaaaaay too sensitive these days. Not everybody likes homosexuals or agrees with it,
oh well get over it..
Title needs to be changed
Thought that was real... And no he shouldnt be suspend, for saying he and lebron arent gay.

"Pacers' Hibbert fined $75k by NBA for using inappropriate and vulgar language following Gm 6 of Pacers’ 91-77 victory over the Miami Heat."

David Stern said Hibbert had a "sincere apology," but a "fine is necessary to reinforce that such offensive comments will not be tolerated"
USA Today:
Quote:
The NBA fined Indiana Pacers center Roy Hibbert $75,000 for his homophobic and vulgar comments following Saturday night's 91-77 victory in Game 6 of the Eastern Conference finals against the Miami Heat.
"While Roy has issued an apology, which is no doubt sincere, a fine is necessary to reinforce that such offensive comments will not be tolerated by the NBA," NBA Commissioner David Stern said in a news release.
Me too! The NBA fined him 75,000 for his comments.
No, that would be very excessive.
Tolerance is putting up with people you do not agree with. Hence, you have to disagree first in order to tolerate.
