How would you guys feel about signing Mike Miller
I've read from a few online articles that Mike Miller is likely to get amnestied next season by the Heat. If he does, are we allowed to sign him? How would you guys feel about us signing him as a backup SF/SG? Although he isn't as athletic as he was in his younger days, a shooter always retains his shooting touch. He's clearly shown that he can still ball at the NBA level, and says that he should be able to play 4 or 5 more years with his current health.

Re: How would you guys feel about signing Mike Miller
I'd sign him. But I'd rather go after Kyle Korver.
Deadeye and can defend.

Re: How would you guys feel about signing Mike Miller
Nope, oft hurt, he can shoot but doesn't fit our system. Spend money on someone younger who will grow with Kawhi, Danny etc.

Re: How would you guys feel about signing Mike Miller
Another shooter than can't play D? No thanks
-
Re: How would you guys feel about signing Mike Miller
No thanks. Plays zero D. Spend the money on a big who can defend and rebound.

This. Korver is your guy. Neal out, Korver in.

Re: How would you guys feel about signing Mike Miller
I don't mind having a couple of solid old dudes on the bench as long as they're gamers. If he's willing to settle for limited minutes as a 10th or 11th man, somebody like that would be ideal. We need younger guys further up the rotation, but not everywhere IMO.

He's actually an underrated defender. If you've watched some of the game breakdowns from Coach Nick of "bballbreakdowns", you'd hear C.Nick praise his ability to smoothly switch between defenders. I didn't hear any fan complain once about Dwyane Wade's lack of defense after all he gave Green all those wide open three pointers (Yes, Green was supposed to be Wade's man).

Re: How would you guys feel about signing Mike Miller
He doesn't provide much more than what Danny already does. Pass. We need a creator, not a spot-up shooter.

Unlike Green, Miller's actually comfortable handling the ball.

Re: How would you guys feel about signing Mike Miller
Green will get better at handling the ball, plus he needs a step in jumper after he gets run off the 3. We do need a creator, Kawhi though will get more offense next season.

You can add that he is 33, barely walking, looking like his legs are going to fall off soon. His defense doesn't exist.
Pass.

Re: How would you guys feel about signing Mike Miller
rather go after jj reddick

Re: How would you guys feel about signing Mike Miller
Reddick Or Korver. Miller would probably just break down and do nothing here.
-
Re: How would you guys feel about signing Mike Miller
Dude can't even stand up straight anymore. No thanks.
Need youngblood now to balance out the vets we already have.

Re: How would you guys feel about signing Mike Miller
We don't need a great SF signing, let's spend the money on a big. We just need a backup that can play 10-15 minutes and Miller or Korver would be perfect for that.
-
Re: How would you guys feel about signing Mike Miller
like we need another 33 year old in our roster

Again, people exaggerate his defense. Sure, it wasn't that good as someone like Lebron, but it sure as hell wasn't that bad either. It wasn't Miller who guarded Green and let him break the record for the most three pointers in a finals series (Wade). It wasn't Miller who let Duncan dominate him in the post, where he averaged 19 points and 12 rebounds (Bosh). In my opinion, the only reason people say that is because of the stereotype that white guys (who aren't centers) can't play defense. Reddick and Korver also fall into this stereotype. I mean, people say that Bird played no defense even though he averaged above 9 rebounds a game.

Re: How would you guys feel about signing Mike Miller
If the Spurs are going to sign a veteran bench shooter for cheap, I'd easily go with Mike Dunleavy over Miller or Korver, tbh..
He's an average defender, he's a great 3-point shooter, and he's a solid rebounder compared to the typical 3-point specialist..

cosigned. he seems far more likely to get gritty than those two. Korver is a good pick, but I think Dunleavy would be a better overall deal and would excel on a team like the Spurs.

Re: How would you guys feel about signing Mike Miller
Screw that guy. He can stay on his bought team and enjoy his bought championships.
-
Re: How would you guys feel about signing Mike Miller
I used to like Miller a lot before he became one of LeBron's enablers.
Let him collect his ring and retire or go down with a mediocre team.
I'd rather keep Bonner than sign anyone from the fucking Superfriends reserve squad.

Re: How would you guys feel about signing Mike Miller
Please go after JJ Redick. JJ Redick wants to win. How do I know this? I'm a Magic fan. Was there since he was drafted by Magic and there since he was traded by the Magic. He hates losing and I wanted to see him succeed. I know he can succeed on the Spurs.
JJ Redick wouldn't be in the league without his determination and work ethic. He use to be a small guy with T-Rex arms and now he's pack on muscle...adjusting his game and his mind to the league. I would definitely be all about JJ Redick coming to the Spurs.

Re: How would you guys feel about signing Mike Miller
I don't want someone who can't walk.

Neither Kyle Korver or Mike Miller could defend my grandmother, and she's dead. NO MORE DEFENSIVE COMPROMISES.

Do not want any associates of the super-best friends on this team

Highlights against Bobcats says it all. Everyone's best game comes against them.

Ah yes, the old " all white guys (who aren't centers) can't defend" stereotype.

It's not a stereotype, it's a fact. When was the last time there was a white wing player on either All Defense team? The Spurs have finally figured this one out. Their new wing template is Danny Green/ Kawhi Leonard, the 3 and D paradigm. You can teach them to shoot. You can never teach Miller/Korver/Reddick to be laterally quicker.

Then again, when was the last time a black wing player was called out for lacking effort on the defensive end? Dwyane Wade and Ray Allen played such poor defense on Green that they practically just gave him the record for most threes in a finals series; anyone could have hit those threes that Green hit had they been given the space that Wade and Allen gave Danny. I didn't once hear anyone comment on their poor defense throughout the entire series. Instead, it was all about how Miller is old, and that he just couldn't guard our players with his "defense". Just a bit of bias that I've been noticing around the NBA.

You're misunderstanding me. I never said that ALL black players defend. They just have the better potential for it. White dudes just don't generally come in a package where their wingspan is 6-8" wider than they are tall. That allows them to "potentially" cover more area. Nobody can defend if they don't put forth the effort. Pop isn't going to allow that, though.
Tim can block shots when he's in position. It just takes him a beat longer to get there now. We need wing defenders that can cover wide ground and force one or two moves, spins or crossovers, not allowing a direct line to the basket.
BTW, you almost never hear ANY critique of ANY aspect of Heat basketball. That in itself is a flaw.

How many more games did Neal get hot in? Also, how many three point shooting records did Neal break?
