There are many who have said he may already be the strongest player in the NBA.

I am intrigued with the Green trade possibility, but do you really want to risk losing the possible best defensive SG/SF tandem in a couple of years? It's a double edged sword IMO.

I think RC went on record in the Express News yesterday saying he wanted to bring Manu back.

Green will improve during summer. I wouldn't trade him, especially with the contract he has, we can't get anything really useful in return...

I wouldn't mind him back with a greatly greatly reduced role. Leonard needs to be getting his shots and touches.

Do your own google search. You will see the word strong and Baynes in almost all quotes.

Re: Which Spurs players are not coming back next year?
Baynes is strong as an OX but Adam is not strong enough but he can ball and should be in our summer camp.

The other side of the coin is that neither Kawhi nor Danny really has a good handle (ball handling/penetration) on the ball. It's really tough when your center is a weak, heartless, worthless turd and your 2 and 3 cannot be trusted to dribble penetrate on any kind of a regular basis. I honestly don't know how we even made it to the finals.
in any event, yes we need to upgrade at the 2 spot. If that means Green goes to the bench.... Or even gets traded.... thenso be it.

Really? He's going to improve this Summer? What, suddenly he's going to miraculously learn to dribble better than an 8th grader?
If George Hill was tradable, then Danny Green is tradable. Move him and the 28th to move way p in the draft

Re: Which Spurs players are not coming back next year?
I think that Blair, Bonner, and Neal will be gone.

Look at last year when Green sucked we all wanted him to work on his handles to me that is what is keeping him from being a good player and I said that last year. But I saw ZERO improvement from last year to this year which makes me think what we have is what we have not going to change.

Re: Which Spurs players are not coming back next year?
Lots of suggestions that we ditch Splitter, but no mentions of viable replacements.
And no, Al Jefferson and DHo aren't viable replacements.

I can see Howard not being viable but why not Jefferson? The guy wants to be on a winner.

In a word: Cost. The Spurs aren't going to pony up what it would take to get him here.
Just for the record, I'm on board with looking in a different direction from Splitter. I just can't come up with a good suggestion though.

We've overpaid for a player before and in this instance I don't think we'd overpay so much as what the market dictates. What he'd offer him is probably what the spurs would give tiago.

Which is why he'll never be in Silver and Black. Jefferson will command more than Splitter, and rightfully so.

He made 15 Mil and there are not a lot of teams who are willing to cough up that kind of cash for him given the new CBA. He'll take less and want to be on a winner. He's tired of losing. His offense makes up for his lack of defense since he'd be in a diminished role and he'll actually get some longevity here.. There is more pros for him coming here than anywhere else really. He'd take a 9 or 10 Milly contract and we could always restructure after the next season or 2.

Re: Which Spurs players are not coming back next year?
Remember that the season is 81 games long, and Tim is going to be 38...
Tiago's main value was helping Tim carry the load during the regular season so we could have a healthy Duncan in the playoffs.
How much would you pay for that?
I am looking forward to seeing Baynes in there, but how long is it going to take him to learn the rotations?
-
Re: Which Spurs players are not coming back next year?
Obvious choices are Blair and T-Mac.
Bonner and Neal are also likely not to return, but I get the feeling they will be back.
I'm expecting Mills to opt in, otherwise the Spurs probably wouldn't bring him back.
The Spurs will likely want to retain Ginobili, Splitter, and Diaw so I expect them to return.

Yes.

Re: Which Spurs players are not coming back next year?
Nando will be traded, some team will overpay Neal and the Spurs won't match, Blair replacement is Baynes so hes gone too.
Mills will pick his option and be the third PG, Diaw will pick his option and if the Spurs don't sign Dwight, Manu and Splitter will be back too.

Re: Which Spurs players are not coming back next year?
I just hope Manu retires.
