Brett Brown, serious candidate for Nuggets coaching job

Re: Brett Brown, serious candidate for Nuggets coaching job
He'd probably bring Patty over to the Nuggets to be their back up point guard if he's selected. Great news for Patty!

Re: Brett Brown, serious candidate for Nuggets coaching job
Losing your two main assistant coaches in one offseason is somewhat unsettling. Unless Udoka is ready to step up his responsibilities you would think that Pop will bring in someone more experienced as a replacement. Two candidates with obvious connections to the organisation would be Avery Johnson and PJ Carlesimo. Oberto coming over also looks a lot more likely to happen now.

Great news for the Spurs also if this comes true.More free cap space.

Re: Brett Brown, serious candidate for Nuggets coaching job
Would love to have PJ back tbh.
-
Re: Brett Brown, serious candidate for Nuggets coaching job
new coaching blood in with pop would nto be a bad imo
-
Re: Brett Brown, serious candidate for Nuggets coaching job
At that rate, Spurs will end up with the Coyote as top assistant soon.
-
Re: Brett Brown, serious candidate for Nuggets coaching job
Can we get Don Newman back?

I agree.

Re: Brett Brown, serious candidate for Nuggets coaching job
don't want PJ. would be moving backwards. was actually a big fan of Brown, and that was my one silver lining of Bud leaving. damn.
-
Re: Brett Brown, serious candidate for Nuggets coaching job
Patrick Ewing's son has been complaining about his dad not getting a HC job despite putting in the work
he should just come here as an assistant tbh
only took Vaughn like 1 year to find a HC somewhere else after becoming an assistant

I don't know I just think he's very likable/well spoken.

Andre Miller

Re: Brett Brown, serious candidate for Nuggets coaching job
coaching staff jumping ship tbh

Re: Brett Brown, serious candidate for Nuggets coaching job
Good luck to him!
That said, it's not great that there is this much upheaval. Wouldn't be shocked if Avery Johnson or PJ Carleisimo (sp) got brought back so there's at least some familiarity.

LOL. Maybe Ewing and Duncan can teach Tiago Splitter a few moves in the post and how not to be soft when getting to the rim.

Which also means you are hopping off the bandwagon. Great news.

I've been cheering hard for the Spurs and contributing to these forums throughout the entire playoffs, even with Patty not getting any minutes at all. There's nothing wrong with having a favorite player. Not sure why you show this much hostility towards me, man. A bit unwarranted, I'd say.
Plus, I've been a Spurs fan for the last 4-5 years. I didn't just "jump" on when Patty joined.

Just messing with you, tbh. Thought it would be fitting since we've had these arguments before in the past. :lol

Re: Brett Brown, serious candidate for Nuggets coaching job
The playblair troll was funny for a week. Now it's just a tired schtick.
-
Re: Brett Brown, serious candidate for Nuggets coaching job
^hater............ no doubt blair will prove everyone wrong........... when blair has another 30/20 game for a team not named spurs.......... haters better not bandwagon.............
-
Re: Brett Brown, serious candidate for Nuggets coaching job
Further proof the league is run by idiots... Teams keep hiring assistants from an incompetent coach... or so I hear...

Re: Brett Brown, serious candidate for Nuggets coaching job
If it wouldn't mean Pop is staying for quite a while, I'd be pissed.

Adrian Wojnarowski @WojYahooNBA

Re: Brett Brown, serious candidate for Nuggets coaching job
No less. two teams.
Next is Ime.
Bobcats for him.
-
Re: Brett Brown, serious candidate for Nuggets coaching job
:/ Not feeling too good about that. I think Brown walks for one of those jobs.
-
Re: Brett Brown, serious candidate for Nuggets coaching job
I agree, I think Brett will walk. The Nugget roster has some quality. You'd be happy to walk in there and not have to start a rebuild. 76's can still build around the big guy if that jobs offered to Brett but that's a work in progress.
-
Re: Brett Brown, serious candidate for Nuggets coaching job
If he is gone I think it's guaranteed PJ is coming back, noooo!
-
Re: Brett Brown, serious candidate for Nuggets coaching job
Don Newman sons. Get this guy back!!
-
Re: Brett Brown, serious candidate for Nuggets coaching job
How come we're not getting 1st round picks for these guys??
:lol Clippers
-
Re: Brett Brown, serious candidate for Nuggets coaching job
Since we already lost coach Budd, and now Brett Brown possibly leaving, I think it's time to give a call to Avery Johnson and PJ Carlesimo. That would be an awesome coaching staff for Pop.
-
Re: Brett Brown, serious candidate for Nuggets coaching job
IIRC, PJ was already with the team during practice sessions in the playoffs... even though he wasn't officially a member of the staff...
-
Re: Brett Brown, serious candidate for Nuggets coaching job
Nuggets hire Pacers asst BRIAN SHAW as coach, source tells Denver Post.

Can't say I'm surprised. Shaw deserved a HC gig.
Let's see what happens with the Philly job.
-
Re: Brett Brown, serious candidate for Nuggets coaching job
props to Shaw. he's more than paid his dues.
as for Brett, now that Nuggets is gone, curious if he would want to go to Philly. shit, that's a tough call.
hopefully Spurs bring back PJ. Not a huge fan of Avery but he would bring some fire.
-
Re: Brett Brown, serious candidate for Nuggets coaching job
Nugs hired Shaw...Blair/Brown to Philly?
-
Re: Brett Brown, serious candidate for Nuggets coaching job
A few weeks back people in here were questioning if he should be the lead assistant.
-
Re: Brett Brown, serious candidate for Nuggets coaching job
Kevin Arnovitz @kevinarnovitz
About to file to ESPN. Dave Joerger to be named Memphis head coach.
-
Re: Brett Brown, serious candidate for Nuggets coaching job
someone hire Rick Barnes please. he can take over pops be a dick to the media routine and coach inbound defense or some shit. do it rc.
-
Re: Brett Brown, serious candidate for Nuggets coaching job
Coaching. Tree.
Now that Mike Bud is gone, a former NBA HC with the familiarity of a Carlisemo or AJ might not be a bad idea as the top assistant. I think Pop could use someone like that to challenge his bullshit from time to time (note: I love Pop, but he, like everyone else, has his own private stash of bullshit and sometimes it helps to be called out on it.)
-
Re: Brett Brown, serious candidate for Nuggets coaching job
They might take Brown because as a first time NBA head coach he will be cheap. I hope he stays with the spurs but if he leaves PJ is my guy.
-
Re: Brett Brown, serious candidate for Nuggets coaching job
Denver Post said the Nuggets hired Brian Shaw as head coach.

Avery would be just the guy.
