I like him a lot as a PF-C hybrid. Needs to get stronger though.

The problem with drafting a C-PF type player is that we don't know what's going to happen to pretty much ALL of our bigs. I mean, Timmy is likely to return, but we don't know for sure yet. Blair's probably gone, Diaw COULD opt out (don't think he will but it's not impossible), and Splitter is a huge wildcard to return. I guess Baynes is likely to stay, though.
Idk maybe we do draft a big. There's a lot of uncertainty.

Muscala looks like the only sure fire prospect. Every other player is a risk.

Very hard to find a good 7" that late in the draft. Most likely the 7' you will get will be a bust that late. I don't want any unathletic white centers on the spurs.
Better to target a pg, sg or sf at 28.

Other 3&D wing prospects that would fit...Tony Snell and Allen Crabbe.

Doesn't matter who the Spurs want. Portland will draft them first anyway.

He's basically only a spot up 3-point shooter at this point, but he's only 19. He shocked everybody by declaring for the draft after only one season at Arizona where he only averaged 5 pts and 3 rbs per game. He's kind of awkward/goofy in his movements and the way he runs. Much like Cory Joseph, he's not ready for the NBA, but the Spurs might draft him and let him develop in Austin for a couple years. He does have potential and room to improve though.
Yeah saw him Draft Express he's listed as the Spurs 2nd round choice at 58. So he would be a massive stretch as a first rounder. A second rounder on him would be a nice investment.

F Withey, unless the NBA does away with the three seconds in the paint rule.

Re: NBA Draft: Realistic Possibilities for Spurs
From the guys BatManu has listed, I want Ledo. I have a feeling one of those jackass good-for-nothing front offices drafting before us will pick him to be the next useless chucker, or worse, Gerald Green. If you can get a potential future 6'7 with guard skills-type all-star with the #28, you do it. We don't need another Danny Green. The Danny Green we already have is fucking badass when you he doesn't have to do too much. We actually need a guy to dominate the ball when Parker doesn't have it. Parker is literally the only guy on the roster who can dribble the ball with any regularity. That is a sad, correctable problem.
Go Ledo!

My exact thoughts.
We have groomable PG prospects, but I can't say the same about SG prospects.. Is Hanga even a SG?
We need a solid, American SG w/ some ball handling skills.

Re: NBA Draft: Realistic Possibilities for Spurs
Mbakwe in the 2nd round would be nice. Rebounding is one stat that translates well to the NBA.
good read here, talks a lot about potential undrafted players and mentions the spurs a couple of times.

Re: NBA Draft: Realistic Possibilities for Spurs
They're always a good read...they seem to mention the spurs every year around draft time. Their model and has been somewhat aligned with the picks made by the spurs in recent years ...I believe the wagesofwins model viewed marcus denmon, kawhi leonard, dejuan blair and george hill as prospects worthy of taking a gamble on due to the higher win share numbers in college
I wouldn't be surprised if the spurs come away from draft night with a couple of the guys mentioned in their top 10 prospects...possibly Nate wolters, jamaal franklin, dj stephens

He's a legit 6'8" too, not 6'5" and heavy like Blair.

Pop wouldn't play any of these guys meaningful minutes, I don't see a Kawhi Leonard in the group, mature enough to grasp everything that is being asked of him.
