I think Pop would stick around for another 5 years if DH12 came to the Spurs.

Well he's not going to Dallas. Mark my words. You guys will have to revert to over paying free agents and being another mediocre team while Dirk gets a year older.

I am going to quietly leave the thread and give you some time to think about that..
David is a perennial choker who couldn't do shit until Duncan came to carry him. Just another regular season tryhard who wilted like a bitch in the playoffs every fucking year. My biggest memory of him was him getting his shit pushed in by Hakeem :lmao

Robinson was a former league MVP and a scoring champion. When you compare the skill sets between Howard and David it's a joke. Howard is a good defender and a great rebounder but his offensive game is completely mediocre. He has no post game, no jump shot, and can't make FT's. You can't go to him down the stretch and depend on his offense. On top of that does Howard have any intangibles as a leader or a team-mate? No he is a selfish spoiled brat. That is not a franchise player to me. That is not someone I can build a title team around. The idea that he wants to go to Dallas so it will be his team :lol

Every single post of yours on the Spurs is negative bro. BTW Howard is not better than Robinson was in his prime, if you think so then see what he does on your team if you guys get him.

If Mike D'antoni is really the reason he won't come back they should just can him now.. What are the odds he is still with LA by the All Star Break anyway?

The Spurs should make a serious play at Howard, RC go to LA feel him out see if he is serious. If he wants a ring, a great coach a smaller market and to be somewhat insulated from all the negative press he would be exposed to on most teams then the Spurs are the obvious choice. If he is leaving the Lakers then Spurs>Rockets>Mavs. Chance at a championship? the Spurs just pushed (and should have beat) the Heat this year, so the Spurs would surround him with the most talent. Problems with the Coach in LA, Pop is regarded as the best coach in the NBA (except in the ST forum). The Spurs culture naturally insulates it's players from harsh media scrutiny. Parkers high profile divorce and TD's upcoming divorce rarely makes waves on ESPN or media outlets. The Spurs are all about basketball. They have all the taxes brakes that Houston and Dallas can offer as well. If not the Lakers then the Spurs would/should be the obvious choice. Where there is no pressure to be 'the man' immediately but the opportunity to become the man in a few years is possible. If he says yes then bye bye Manu, if he is just playing around then make the same push for David West.

Re: Report: Dwight Howard unlikely to sign with Lakers, leaning Houston, Dallas
There is no way Howard returns to the Lakers and let me tell you why. Laker fans cry and say itsbecause of Jim Buss and D'Antoni...but it isnt. Its because of Kobe. Howard doesnt like Kobe....hell....no players like Kobe. He is an egomaniac that alienates himself from his teammates. But bring that up to Laker fans and they cry about it and think their idol does no wrong. When Kobe said he wants to play another 2-3 years...Howard is saying...I'm Out!

I didn't go there, you did. Dwight Howard took Orlando to the finals. The potential for building a championship team around him is there. Yeah, he's a whiny little primadona. He's also, when healthy, the most dominant big in the league. You can build a team around a guy who gives you 20 and 12 every single game if you do it right. Nobody outside of Kobeland thought the Lakers would be a good landing spot for him. Josh Smith is going to get a max deal. I'd rather have one Dwight Howard on my team than two Josh Smiths.

If you add to that the Spurs have the best shooting coach in the league and what it would mean to Howard if he could shoot 65% from the free throw line. It would end the Hack-a-Dwight to a large degree and potentially extend his career. Is there any doubt that Howard will sustain more shoulder injuries when teams' preferred defense is to foul ridiculously hard across the arms as he goes up? If he could check his ego (HUGE IF) and actually learn some post moves from Tim he could become the player he thinks he is.
