Had Gobert been available at 28, I wonder if the Spurs would've gone for him. Still sad SAS missed out on him.

Gobert was already the 28th draft pick but
Gobert is bust
He's not strong enough at the leg
He's good just to receive the alley oop pass and do some Blocks, that's all
He's slow, has a shoot as good as Dwight Howard (ie none)
And he shoved around by smaller players, he doesn't know how to post
He's bad at pass, bad defense (just good at block because 7'2"),bad shoot
BAD
BAD
BAD

Here's a little different view of Saint Charles than what he showed in the Nike Summit game. More driving and outside shooting.

He said last year he played PF but this year he'll be playing almost exclusively SF, working on outside shooting, passing and ball handling.
Livio Jean-Charles is currently playing the U20 Euro. He had 14 points in his first game and 16 in his second game while there is 5 minutes left.

Hopefully in the SL next season
Bruno is Asvel the right team for LJC to develop? They didn't give him significant minutes last season, kinda suprising considering he's a french prospect.I know that Westermann left them to join Partizan, and he was voted the best player in U20 competition. Also was called in french national team.
[tinfoilhat]Asvel hid LJC on the bench until he was safely in the Spurs' fold and now will play big minutes in a Spurs-type system.[/tinfoilhat]
I would say it's a pretty good place for Jean-Charles to grow. Next season they will play the Eurocup which will give Jean-Charles more playing time opportunities. They have a decent coach but maybe the best is the Spurs connection through Parker. Spurs will be able to monitor as closely as possible jean-Charles growth and even interact with ASVEL coaching staff to develop some specific aspect of his game.
Regarding Westermann, they wanted to keep him but his dream was to play in a top historic European team. Most young basketball players dream in France of the NBA but Westermann dream was the Euroleague.
Playing against estonia now.
U20 FNT shouldn't do too well at that Eurobasket. '93 is a weak year for French basketball with only 2 good young players (Jean-Charles and a player named Invernizzi). There are some good '94 players, with Jaiteh being the more known, but being 1 year younger hurt them.
Is this guy really 6'9? He doesn't look it. If he's standing next to Lebron, who's 6'8, I'd say Lebron would dwarf him.
He's probably 6'6 or maybe, MAYBE 6'7. Probably has never been measured in the U.S. He's gunna have to play SF and learn how to shoot outside. Just too small.
He was measured at the Hoop Summit a couple of months ago:

Edit: I just type too slowly :|Quote:
18 pts 10 rebs 3 assists 1 steal. He was moved to the 3 spot.
Being the best player on the team, It's interesting to see how far he can take them
lol if someone I've never seen before stood next to this other guy....
Spurs bring over Saint Charles in two years, pair him with Leonard and tank for Dante Exum in 2015 and they are good for the next ten years.
