I doubt it. He stays another year and plays with a high profile team. More people watching more opportunities to improve his stock.

Lets not forget we needed just 1 fucking rebound more and we'd be champions but whatever. Might be nice to have a strong interior presence unlike pansy Splitter and the Tweeners Bonner and Blair.
Pop wouldn't put in in a game late in that situation. I like him but not for the spurs. If Turiaf is available i'd love him as a 4th or 5th big.

Really? I could have sworn Kidd and Jet were both with the Mavericks during 2012

Re: Garnett, Pierce and Terry to Brookyln for Gerald Wallace.
So you've got
D-Will
Iso Joe
Paul Pierce
Kevin Garnett
Brook Lopez
6th man: Jet
That's sick. They need a few solid guys off the bench.

They're in cap hell though. They only have the mini-MLE this summer, which is ~$3M. Unless they dump one of their starters for nothing, they're gonna fuck themselves over in the luxury tax. They've thrown away all cap flexibility and half their picks for the next few years.

I could see a few vets go there at a shot to beat the heat

By including Wallace in the deal, they improved their cap number for 2015. Also, PP is off the books for 15M after next season. KG off for 12M the season after. That will be 27M off the books in a hurry if things don't work out basketball wise which is solid.

Re: Garnett, Pierce and Terry to Brookyln for Gerald Wallace.
News this morning is that Marshon Brooks will now be headed to Boston in the trade instead of Reggie Evans...

Re: Garnett, Pierce and Terry to Brookyln for Gerald Wallace.
Really, no way around it: It was a very good trade for BKY no matter what. Especially with their pocket books.
Quote:
The combined 13’-14’ salaries of Kris Humphries, Gerald Wallace, MarShon Brooks, Keith Bogans, and Kris Joseph next season are about $24.1 million (this assumes that the Nets would not have re-signed Keith Bogans and would have guaranteed Kris Joseph’s contract).
Compare that $24.1 million number with what the Nets will now owe Paul Pierce, Kevin Garnett, and Jason Terry ($32,992,069) and you get a difference of about $8.9 million, i.e. the Nets will have about $8.9 million more in committed salaries next season with the trade than they would have had without it.
How does this impact the Nets salary cap situation for next season? It doesn’t. The Nets were so capped out already that adding more salary simply means that owner Mikhail Prokhorov will have to pay a higher luxury tax bill and a higher team salary.
We can pencil in roughly $94.7 million in committed salaries for Brooklyn next season (this not only assumes that C.J. Watson opts-out, but it also doesn’t count any potential Nets signings such as Andray Blatche or Bojan Bogdanovic this offseason).
In 2014-2015, the Nets would have an additional $6.1 million in committed salaries with the trade than without it for that season. It would make their total committed salaries stand at around $80 million (this assumes the Nets sign both Tornike Shengelia and Tyshawn Taylor to their qualifying offers). Once again, it would leave the Nets well over the cap and still over the tax-line in either scenario.
In 2015-2016, things start to change: instead of having more committed salary with the trade than without it, the Nets will actually decrease the amount of committed salary. The $10,105,855 that is owed to Gerald Wallace in that season is now on the Celtics. It would leave the Nets committed to around $59.4 million (assuming Mirza Teletovic signs a qualifying offer) as opposed to $69.6 milliob with Wallace on the roster for that season.
It could wind up being good for BOS, but we won't know that for a while. They really didn't get any cap relief, the players they got aren't that good or even good trade assets (maybe Hump's expiring) and their picks are of questionable value at the moment. Not a bad trade for BOS, but hard to tell how it will all work out for them right now.

Psh I said last year, Nothing about last season :p: (Justifying, I know). AND TECHNICALLY in this EXACT time last year, they were both with the Mavericks. Since they didn't become free agents until July. I'm putting way too much thought into this :lol

Their owner is an angry Russian Billionaire. I dont think he gives a fuck how much tax he pays. He probably wipes his ass with the amount of $ Peter Holt has.
