They'll sit back and think "mission accomplished" Manu will get a majority of the remaining money, probably 6M for 2 years. and then offer some guy an MLE.

thats what Tiago's market value was, not what "the spurs valued him at." Pop trusted Diaw more than Splitter down the stretch. By that logic, Splitter is "worth" around 4 million. Problem is, when you have a decently talented center on the good side of 30, they go for a high price. Deandre Jordan, Javale McGee are getting over 10 mil per year. Biedrins signed for 6 years 54 million. Asik who was a bench player (essentially Splitter before this past season) got 3 years 25 million. It's simply the going rate for centers. I still think they can make a push for Kirilenko, but its about his willingness to play from the bench, unless the Spurs just did something retarded and gave Splitter that contract to play off the bench.Quote:

The Spurs will add another player or two to the roster but whoever they get won't be good enough to make any type of big impact.

Should they bring Neal back (gave him a qualifying offer), they may have to be more creative. Bringing back Bonner means it's almost certain that AK47 would have to fit into the MLE. Seems like it comes down to a question of whether Bonner or Unknown Shooter X will be more valuable to the team. Given AK47 can guard guys in the post at least as well as Bonner - and we all know Bonner was serviceable last year - they will add wing depth instead. Reddick is off the table, so that's probably where the Monta Ellis / J.R. Smith rumors are coming from.

The Spurs for sure wanted two of them back -- Splitter and Manu. Neal's status probably depends upon who else may be available.
