Re: Official Lakers comic relief thread
Agree, Brazil...Lakers are now the biggest joke in the NBA.
-
Re: Official Lakers comic relief thread
Anyone else think that Dwight was leaning toward staying right up until Kobe decided to try to talk him into staying and then ran to tell the media all about it?
-
Re: Official Lakers comic relief thread
Agree. He wanted to "teach" him how to win championships. What a joke.

Kirby negotiates FA deals like he does strange Denver pussy.

The humiliation in Lakerland.
Being rejected by a loser you barely even wanted back. :lol (You just had no other options whatsoever.) :lol

Re: Official Lakers comic relief thread
Here's what's hilarious. Bryant is in the last year of his contract, and needs to sign an extension. But he just scared away the second most sought-after free agent in the last ten years (LeBron being first). Although all NBA insider know this, it's now public knowledge that nobody likes playing with Bryant. So if you're the Lakers, what do you do? If they were smart they'd amnesty the fool. But you watch...they'll sign Bryant to a 3-year extension for 60M.

Turning down 30 million isn't just crossing tbe street to avoid someone, it's tunneling under the ground to avoid them.

I do.
Not so much what he said, but that he had his PR machine put it out there for general consumption. Losing situation for Howard after that. If he returned, the world would assume that he agreed to Kobe's terms.

Re: Official Lakers comic relief thread
The Begging and Rejection have truly made :28 go down easier. It has helped unify Spurs fan while in their own civil war. Props to Laker fan and Jim Buss for this trainwreck.

Howard is ostensibly handing over 30M so that he won't have to play with Bryant. That's the equivalent of being offered a check for $16,438 EVERY DAY for 5 years, but saying, "No thanks. You keep it, cuz I don't want to play with no Kobe Bryant."

When Kobe said he wans to play another 2-3 years...Howard basically said I'm out. What a slap in the face to Kobrick.

Re: Official Lakers comic relief thread
Hopefully egomaniacal Bryant is front and center in Laker recruitment efforts in 2014.

They should've known that to Dwight, the grass is always greener on the other side.

His teaching, "get a big man who can score"

Re: Official Lakers comic relief thread
Bryant's teaching: Find players who can make you better, because I certainly can't.

Re: Official Lakers comic relief thread
This is freakin' hilarious. It more than makes up for the Nuggets getting screwed and losing Iggy for nothing.

Re: Official Lakers comic relief thread
As I said last offseason with that 4 team trade don't judge it immediately...
76ers-Bynum played no games for them and probably never will. Lost draft pick and forced to restart. Did get Lotto pick and Holiday emerged only to be moved for Noel and a top 5 protected pick. 3 out of 5
Lakers-Got best player in trade Dwight Howard. Kept Pau, and moved Bynum who seemed discontent there. Barely make postseason, only to get swept and failed to make it back to the WCF for 3rd straight season. Dwight leaves. Lost a draft pick. Forced to play a "lost season" with Pau, Nash, and Kobe (currently injured) 1 out of 5
Nuggets-Traded for Iguadala. Won franchise record 57 games, while Iggy underperformed (a 14 PER) lost in 6 games to GSW. He left after reportly being willing to sign an extension after his initial trade. Their out of a 1st round pick and have nothing to so for it beyond this season. There is a gaping hole on the wing now. 2 out of 5
Magic-Keep books clean and tanked season. Got a solid player at #2 pick in bad draft, Moved Reddick for Harris (former lotto pick) who played well in the later half of last season. Nelson is an asset that teams (cough** Indiana***cough) could use and may get future 1sts in return.Vucevic seems to be the second coming of Shaq on the glass. In postion to be a bottom 5 team this season. Got 3 1st rounders that they can use in the future to potentially move up the draft boards. 5 out of 5

Funny if Miami ends up with him, he signs a shitty deal just to prove himself, they get to the Finals or whatever and magically he can collect another big contract.

Interested to hear Nuggets fan take on it...
They weren't gonna do much next season but unless they get another guy on the wing they in trouble.
Galanari out for a few weeks to start the season.
Miller is bound to not be good at some point (I wouldn't bet against him though)
They are a 6 seed

Re: Official Lakers comic relief thread
This is a black eye for the Lakers. But Philly is feeling the good karma on this. The reality is that LA had at lot of flaws. Howard would have to have picked loyalty over winning a title to sign with Lakers.
BTW, Jerry is rolling over in his grave over his son's incompetence.

I work with 2 Miami fans they seem convinced they can get him. I would lose it if they did. When he's right he is better than Howard IMO. That would be a really difficult team to match up against. Hope he goes to a bad team with cap space like Dallas or Phoenix & not a playoff team.

It was more of a joke, looking at how much they're over the cap and into luxury tax area they would need to trade away a lot of players with a S&T to get him for anything. I think he'll land in Dallas

I know but GSW had literally no cap and managed to land Iggy. Stranger things have happened. I think he will play on a $7 million 1 year deal and bounce if he looks good.

Re: Official Lakers comic relief thread
Savor it spurfans, the past year and half may be some of the lowest lows in laker franchise history.
And the funny thing is, it's just as poor a reflection on Kobe as it is on Dwight.

Re: Official Lakers comic relief thread
Laker Rockets will be must see when Kobe comes back.
