Joe Johnson shot 47.8% from 3 on 370 attempts in 2004-2005, so it's possible someone could.
The fact is, this offense gets players looks they never see anywhere else. Couple that with SA having one of the greatest shooting coaches on the planet, and almost everyone sees a bump over their career 3G% when they play here. Kawhi was a 29% shooter from the shorter NCAA line, and he's a 37% shooter from the longer NBA arc here in SA. Danny Green got cut from the Cavs shooting 27% from downtown, and is now a 42.5% career 3 point shooter.

Beli is going to FEAST in this offense, whether you like him or not.

define feast. and him putting a lot of points has little to do with us becoming better with him on the floor imho.
Re: Church of Marco Belinelli
Manu Diaw and Binelli have had incredible chemistry together whic allows us to get away with having Mills at "point guard"
Re: Church of Marco Belinelli
How any one can not see the affect Marco has had on the team in just 8games is either blind or just willfully harded.
Gary was a scorer/shooter who had no real innetween game, couldn't defend his position well and wasn't a playmaker or passer.
Marco is taller, a better defender, a much better passer and play maker. He isn't the scorer or shooter (from the three) that Neal was but every thing else he does well trumps what Neal brought to the team, easily.
Re: Church of Marco Belinelli
Anyone seen enough to buy his jersey?

It's a real magazine, tbh.

Re: Church of Marco Belinelli
Gary is the better shooter. He can shoot anywhere on the floor, leaning, fadeaways, over defender's faces, no matter how much time was spent on the clock, there was always a chance it would go in.
However, Marco's a far superior basketball player. That IQ that he has is something that Neal hasn't brought to the table, and that's the reason why he's been meshing with the Spurs so well. Like many posters here say, he is our version of Brent Barry. And I'd rather take a basketball player than just a shooter all day.

Re: Church of Marco Belinelli
Marco Belinelli best 3pt shooter in the nba, how does that feel?
It's not something anybody can do, but i am not thinking much about it. My goal is to win this damn(:lol translation) title, i want it bad. The rest is nice, also for the italian basketball, but i'm not that into it.
Are the other players looking at you differently?
Yes, but i am not just focused on hitting the 3pter, i want to be a complete player.
How have your past teams and cities influenced you?
The seasons in New Orleans have been very important: my first playoffs, important minutes, teammates such as CP3. Many started to see me as not just another shooter. Coach Thibs in Chicago made me grew as a defender and gave me confidence in my talent: fundamental to come in a team that contends such as San Antonio.
From Chicago to San Antonio, what has changed?
In Chicago the arena is always full, but they can also watch baseball and football. In San Antonio the spurs are the only attraction. It's a nice town, it's hot compared to Chicago and the fans are very involved.
In what way has America changed you?
I came here when i was 19 years old, the first two months in SF were very hard. Then America tought me how to do everything myself, from choosing house to clean a shirt. I was good at english in school, so that helped me. The Bolognese accent will never go away though..
You found Manu Ginobili with the Spurs..
We got along in a moment, he is helping me a lot with everything, we talk in italian about Bologna, about restaurants such as Oscar, because mom's italian food is always missing.
Can Bologna return to being Basket City?
Virtus is doing well and i am happy for the Fortitudo: The Paladozza is always full and that's important because basket is important to Bologna and Bologna is important to basket.
Italian serie a and national team...
Unfortunately the level is always worse, there are no european level teams. With the national team we failed to reach a pass for the world cup, but we showed there is a team, a group and some talent. There are still some regrets. I always cared about the national team, but in the nba the schedule is too intense for me to think about it any sooner than the end of the season.
All star, do you think about it?
Many messages are coming: see you at the all star. Should we talk about it later?
San Antonio is a multiethnic team: are the europeans going to change the nba?
In the long run there may be some influence, but in the nba the way of thinking and the pace are different, it's you who needs to adapt.
Have you been influenced to watch other sports?
I watch the superbowl, i know there is a shitload of stuff to watch, but nothing is like basket.
Tennis however fascinates you.
A lot. I've been at a Wimbledon final with Nike, and it's been a great experience. I am a ederwer fan and i also like Djokovič.
Are you in touch with the other italians in the nba?
I met Bargnana in New York: he is fine and is happy to be there. I hear Gallo a lot less since he is rehabbing. To Datome i say not to give up, it's tough at the beginning, you have to eat a lot of ... ugliness. he's in a hard team in his first year, i understand him because i had to eat that same ugliness. A lot. But it made me a lot more efficient.
<some lame religious shit>
This record and these wins are a revenge?
yes and i keep it in me every day. Many said i was not fit for the nba: i tried to prove them wrong. Today i keep it as a motivation.

And the choir said, "Amen!"
Re: Church of Marco Belinelli
Belinelli looks real good in the system. But i'm afraid Leonard may be the odd man out. He's D'ing up great, but has a lot of room for improvement on Offense. Just hope he hits his shots come playoffs.
