For the minimum as a 10-12 minute backup for Kawhi? Absolutely. He played well for us last year as an emergency signing when Kawhi went down.

Re: James Anderson Waived
Think the 76ers claimed him off waivers.

Makes sense. Their new GM was Morey's assistant. He knows James.

Not surprised either, JA is serviceable. Especially at a discount.

I would rather use the roster spot on Thomas

Thomas can't defend any NBA position.

could Thomas still be used as a 3 pt specialist as a possible replacement for Neal?

He won't see the SA roster, let alone the floor if he can't defend.

Re: James Anderson Waived
Haha if Neal can get playing time then no problems for Thomas.

That's an odd claim when Gary Neal played way more minutes than he should have since he couldn't defend a snail driving to the basket,

Re: James Anderson Waived
it must hurt the young heart of this nigga to get waived imho, it feels like failing an exam in college. Hope nigga will get over it as soon as he can and flourish elsewhere, best wishes. nigga is a talented player and will be signed by another NBA team in no time, hope being waived will turn out to be a goad to him rather than a burden. Maybe he's just not shitty and retarded enough to play for the Rockets.

MCW/JA/Turner/T. Young/Hawes.
Tankapalooza 2013, tbh.

Re: James Anderson Waived
He was a surprisingly good hustle player last season but, from what I remember, he still couldn't make his open threes. Would have been good value for the minimum though

45% on threes last season with us. Dunno his percentages with Houston.

Re: James Anderson Waived
he found the best landing spot tbh

It's worse than that. He can't defend a guy with only one shoe on.

Gary Neal wasn't the worst athlete at his combine. Gary Neal looks like fucking Bowen compared to this kid. He has no burst or lateral movement. It's like he's mired in molasses. Even if they teach him the fundamentals and he gives 100% on every possession for the whole season, he's still going to be a bad defender because he doesn't have the physical tools.

Im not saying Thomas cant get spot, I think he could, but kmon!! Dont forget what Neal has done for the Spurs. Im talking scoring in the Finals.
Only 15 times in the history of the finals someone score 6 or more 3 pointers at 60%+.
He ended that game with 24 points, following Green's 27.
Dont forget!

Re: James Anderson Waived
Good for James! Wish him well in Philly.
-
Re: James Anderson Waived
I'm a big James Anderson fan, but this guy shot 33% from 3 in 10 minutes a game for Houston last year. He always had surprising athleticism before his injury, but I just don't see him having that aspect in his game anymore.
If anything, I bet DeShaun Thomas has a little bit of James Anderson in his game.

Re: James Anderson Waived
If the 76ers claimed him then why are we still discussing getting him?
Just don't understand some of the posts on here!

??? No one did after the post saying he was claimed. This devolved into another Thomas thread, and people were talking about him.
