Thanks for the patience everyone.

Re: 2015 Texas Longhorns Recruiting Thread
Keep in mind QB Kevin Dillman of Denton Guyer is not on the list above because of his recent transfer from California.
He will be top-tier in the state unless he has a disastrous senior year.

Word on Mike Mitchel fron other sites is his dad is pretty sick and he wants to move closer to home. Likely this is a battle between TCU and SMU.

Re: 2015 Texas Longhorns Recruiting Thread
Good to have you back Floss!
24/7 said that '16 WR Reggie Hemphill wants a Texas offer, so that he can commit back to the Longhorns. I didn't know that he is the step-brother of Texas WR Jacorey Warrick. That got to help someway.

Good to know that he still wants to be a Longhorn...also did not know his family connection to Warrick.
Welcome back Tfloss!!

Floss, I know that you probably have a lot of things to catch up. But InsideTexas had a note on Darrion Johnson a few days ago, do you know what that was about?

One of the posters on the Texas Rivals free board claims to be a coach at Reggie's high school. He was telling the board that Coach Strong came to his high school and he (the poster) was really impressed with him.
If the guy is who he says he is, then it could be a factor in why Reggie is waiting for this offer to come back.

Mack really left us in bad shape. He says he left it better than when he got here, but outside of the money being made I'm not sure that is true.

I did a search over there and all I could find was he enrolled at Kilgore College on January 20th.
Does that sound like what you're looking for?

It was something about the coaching staff letting it be known that they will be keeping a close eye on how Darrion is doing at Kilgore JC.
He would be eligible to transfer to a 4yr school next summer.

This staff seems to be going after kids with high upside (3 star players) instead of relying on just star ratings. Not to say they are not going after elite talent, but the confidence of being able to take on kids who need to be coached up is already head and shoulders over the brown regime.

Mack Brown gets $2.75M buyout fee + $500K a year to work in athletics. He had about $40 million left on his coaching contract.

So Mack selling his house and taking another coaching job was just premature talk?
I would have thought he would want to take another coaching job somewhere, but damn, $500k a year to smile and shake a few hands is a pretty good gig.

Re: 2015 Texas Longhorns Recruiting Thread
Per OrangeBloods, QB Michael Brewer of Texas Tech has filed an appeal on the restrictions of his transfer. He should know the result by the end of today. TCU and Texas are the two Big XII schools he's considering and will set up official visits depending on the ruling. Also, a reminder that QB Max Wittek of USC wlll be visiting this weekend.

I think it gets complicated if a graduate transfer wants to stay in conference, and Tech doesn't want to see him at UT or TCU.
I'll post anything I see.

no doubt Tech would block a transfer to conference schools if they could.
I feel bad enough for Brewer that I almost don't mind him going to Austin or Ft Worth

Mack is employed in the same way Diaz was employed after he was fired. Diaz was "reassigned" and was still making money. He didn't really have a job.

It is a big deal, but even if Mahomes plays baseball instead of football leaving Tech with just Webb on scholarship, I'm still not terribly concerned.
Hell, I'm hoping Kliff gambles and redshirts Mahomes any way.

Update on OL Patrick Vahe of Euless Trinity (24/7):
"Those two (Teuhema brothers) decommitting has no impact on me. I don't do what they do - my reasons are different. I have my own goals."
"To be honest, I wanted to go to a school that was popular. Baylor, LSU, UCLA, USC, etc. - everybody hears UT and thinks it's just alright. I questioned it for popularity reasons, but I thought about it maturely and know that Texas is for me."

Re: 2015 Texas Longhorns Recruiting Thread
Saw a tweet where 2016 RB Kameron Martin will be attending the first Junior Day.
I expect him to be offered and he'll probably think hard about committing.

EricNahlin: While I'm checking on Junior Day visitors, Rowlett DE Charless_94 says he'll attend. Has the size and length the new staff covets. 6-5, 220

damn shame things didn't work out for him. I really wanted to see what he would do in this offense.

Is it that suprising? Briles has put Baylor on the map while Mack has been busy moving Texas off of it. A high school kid is only going to look back a couple of seasons when they give an opinion like that.

Texas is going to need a really good season to kick start it in the minds of the high school kids.
The aggie faithful have been saying this for a while, but to hear it from a kid committed to you is pretty strong. Good luck to Coach Strong, he is going to need it.
But it goes to show, that even big time programs need to keep winning or they become stale in the minds of high school kids.

I saw someone over at 24/7 state that his aunt is a Dean at Texas and that his grandmother either have or currently works at Texas. Not sure if it's true or not, just thought it was worth mentioning.

Hell, I'm hoping Kliff gambles and redshirts Mahomes any way.
Why wouldn't it be concerning? Webb is only sophomore himself and if he goes down who gets thrown into the fire, another true freshman ?
Read that Brewer is being blocked from every Big 12 and CUSA Texas team, which includes UTSA. Hope Kliff eases up and allows him to play in CUSA. I think we'd have a legit shot at landing him tbh.

Or a juco transfer. But freshmen are coming in to college programs more ready to play than ever before. I'm not concerned.

You read wrong about Tech blocking the non conference Texas schools.
And no, utsa has absolutely no shot at landing Brewer.

Read it on UTSA rivals site, not sure if accurate. Where'd you read who Kliff did and didn't block him from? Also if Big 12 schools are blocked and Brewer wants to stay in state then yes we have a shot. UTEP landed Showers ffs.

Ok, the guy was wrong.
And what do you know about the other 7 Texas teams, dumb faggot? If he has to settle for a non-P5 program UTSA is as good a place as any for him.

Re: 2015 Texas Longhorns Recruiting Thread
The fuck are you talking about? From the get go I said if Big 12 teams are blocked and he wants to stay in-state UTSA has a legit shot. There's 7 non-P5 teams, with different offensive styles, different QB situations, different recent records...tell me exactly why UTSA doesn't stack up well against those other 6 teams. Go faggot.

Re: 2015 Texas Longhorns Recruiting Thread
WTF, can you 2 clowns quite screwing up this thread already..1 whole page of you 2 assholes crying to each other. Once it was determined that brewer could not play for UT this shit should have stopped.
