For those that don't know, the staff has been pushing for end of season officials, such as the big weekend December 5th. This allows staff to spend more time with recruits one on one instead of having to focus on game planning. Note almost no other staffs dictate officials like Texas. For example, Malik Jefferson supposedly spent most of his visit to Ags with Sumlin a huge chunk of the time even though staff had to worry about upcoming Mizzou game.

1.) Shows that he's likely told certain staff members he's coming.

2.) Staff is still pursuing Kirkland, so that seems to be the answer to whether or not they'd take both.

Inside Texas added that Coach Robinson is also putting out feelers with RB Corey Dauphine (committed to Tech).

He told the Port Arthur Memorial staff that UT wants him and an offer is forthcoming.

Sad that the decision is about politics and marketing and not backing up the talk. I get A&M (and Texas) would have a lot to lose but that is what makes it compelling. The SEC is the top conference according to just about everybody so don't know why they would be concerned to be manipulating bowl matchups. One game will certainly not impact that perception.
