SAS loves the Heat and hates the Spurs so it is not surprising that he would pick the Heat. He is not the only one though that is predicting the Heat to win it all. Matchups don't look good for Miami if they play San Antonio.

This suprises anyone???
Give me a break.
The guy is a hack, a moron.
IMO, I think hes a bit of a rascist.
He rags on Rasho Nesterovic, Christian Laettner and others....
But guys like Rasheed Wallace and others, are left alone, wonder why......
I dont know why yall are trippin like I was shocked or somethin. I was just saying what he said. I wasnt surprized by it at all. Dude has been all over Shaq's jock for years. I was just posting what he said. I havent seen anyone really surprized by it. I was niether surprized or upset. I thought it was HILLARIOUS, actually.Quote:

that guy is soooo fuckin retarded he's not even entertaining ..... I'd give GiG a show beofre this loud mouthed hack.
At least GiG is entertaining in the "point-and-laugh" kind of way. :fro

Wrong.Quote:

I would say more than a bit. :)
Glad Im not the only one that thinks about that.
The only SAS interview I'd want to see would be one with Charles Barkley. Now THAT would be entertaining. Let's see what Charles' prediction is for 06, since he picked the Spurs at the beginning of 05.
I used to the spurs gettin overlooked... as a matter of fact I get nervous when there the favorites (see 2004)
His arguement for pistons to win this past championship was that they were the defending champions. It was that and some irrelevent loud noises mixed into it. Now the spurs prove him wrong and he picks the Heat. Shocking. Truely shocking.
Once again SAS gets on his knees to suck Shaq's dick. Shaq in return will keep inviting him to his parties.
I'm not saying that SAS is not a racist, but your example was horrible. Rasho and Christian are not good players and Sheed was one of the leaders of an NBA Champion. Rasho and Laettner are not even in Sheeds class of a player. Obviously he can't pick the Spurs, then his show would not get ratings and his personality would not get ratings cause he would be like almost anyone else. Also you always look for who is gonna knock off the champion. Miami probably does have the best chance if the new Heat can transform their games to fit a system.Quote:

And I do think he is a sellout, but its easy to pick the team that should win it or has won it, its more compelling to hear why someone else will win it, unless you are a Spurs fan. Also some people on this site get too antsy the second people bad mouth the Spurs. They are NBA freaking champions, people are gonna criticize you, you are on top, they have to try and pull you down.Quote:

The Lakers got respect as the defending champs and so did Detroit and both rightfully so. What happened to the respect given to a defending champ? I understand how players are going to give it there all when they play the Spurs...you always want to do your best against the current champs to see where you are in your game but that is on the court. The players give their respect to the champs...why can't the media? Used to be a respect and sportsmanship thing....sadly that has all gone out the window in today's sports world.Quote:

SAS is a total rasist
yesterday on his show he was all about the black athlete has every right to get as much money from the owners by holding out while insisting its not about greed
that's the second time I have watched his show - strike two
Well you know the old saying about picks. You can pick your friends, you can pick your nose, but you can't expect Steven A. Smith to ever be right about anything because he's such a fucking moron. Or something like that.
Well last year they said heat will win it with shaq on the team last season but looked what happened
I beg to defer on the Detroit one, they didn't get any respect from the media until they start playing the Spurs (no idea why). And over the last decade or so, you can notice that a team in a large media market like the Lakers and the Bulls get much respect from the media, while teams like the Rockets, Spurs and Pistons get far less.Quote:

It's a lemming effect, and bigger media markets can make this work much easier than small market teams.
It's like a movie review, have you watched the Blair Witch Project? That movied sucked like hell, but once the bandwaggon started rolling, there is no stopping it.
fair points. good post.
Unfortunately the Spurs have won the championship twice before in recent history and failed to defend it the following year. If I was a casual fan from somewere else but SA I would probably hold off on giving the Spurs full props to win it all again next year.Quote:

For Once Stephen A. Smith is right. I don't think San Antonio can handle that beast of a team of Miami now that Shaq has real players going with him. Walker, J. Williams, and Posey were great players without Shaq but with Shaq are a monster and San Antonio will get embarrased by Miami's offensive capabilities. Posey will shut down Ginobili also.
Hey bro, you forgot to change your favorite team when you registered.Quote:
