He can go ahead and leave for that money.Quote:
three-year, $8M
3 years 8 million for a decent bench guard???
No thanks.
Because they are waiting to see what someone else offers. They'll decide whether to match or say "Bye-bye". My guess is the Spurs are calling SAR to see if he's interested. Better to put $$ in him rather than DB at this time.Quote:

If that is the case I would think Spree is out of the running unless it's December and he still doesn't have a contract and finally takes a vet minimum.Quote:

Devin wants playing time and a contract. The Spurs don't have either.
Thanks to Rasho's contract, you can say good bye.
Damnit Rasho, you cost us a repeat! :blah :blah :blah :spin :spin :spinQuote:

I have a bad feeling that a Devin Brown for Jarron Collins trade is in the works. The Spurs will use Collins as a fifth big man and he'll fit in with the "character" of the team. The Jazz don't need him much anymore because they got 'Tag back.
Most importantly, Collins has one year left on his contract.
Great.
I would love to see homeboy get another title in Silver & Black but...
this could be a nice career move financially for Devin.
Are the Spurs convinced his back is solid, now, or is this another loss of trust by the Spurs healthwise, a la Charles Spider Smith?
Greeeeeat. Hometown Hero for Bench Fodder.
Yay
:pctoss
I can't wait to see the Spurs justify this latest display of miserliness. Will it be because of the luxury tax? Maybe the Spurs will play the small market card? How about Holt Cat saying 'darn it, we just couldn't move enough tractors'?
Meanwhile they take the arena deal and the lux tax rebates to the bank.

Well, there's another card to play then -- how much should your fifth guard make?Quote:

Why give up a guard as good as DBrown over 3 years and < $10 mil?
So $3 million a year is the going rate for fifth guards these days?
It makes sense to pay that and any resulting taxes if he's going to be a regular rotation player -- is Devin going to be that?
The scuttlebutt on SR was the Spurs were trying to S&T him to Charlotte for Ely, so who knows what's actually happening.
I don't know what it is...but Devin would be fucking bad if he got to start somewhere
