Pop has made the WCF in 2012, the finals in 2013 and at least the WCF again this season. Duncan and Manu aren't in their prime since long time. For the 8, Memphis were the better team. Phil makes less mistakes and is therefore much more consistent, but I doubt Phil would win many, if any, titles with the Spurs rosters.
Funny how Duncan's legacy is cemented as a top 10 player ever for everyone on Spurstalk and yet Pop has had several accolades that only three or four coaches have achieved in NBA history and there are some who question his legacy.
Don't forget the only time Phil has had a roster with aging all stars and raw, young talent, he got swept in the second round of the playoffs. Pop took his team to the finals.Quote:
