Looks like Miami is in trouble. Which means Spurs are in trouble.
If Miami is eliminated, it gives the NBA an incentive to rig against San Antonio since OKC can beat Indiana.
-
Re: Looks like Miami is in trouble. Which means Spurs are in trouble.
Miami isn't done just yet
-
Re: Looks like Miami is in trouble. Which means Spurs are in trouble.
if you didn't notice, they are also rigging the miami series so Durant doesnt have to play against them

Great point.
Nothing like "crowning" Durant when the Heat fall just short in the EC.
But if the Spurs are getting rigged out (probable),
I think it will happen regardless of who the wins the EC.
RefKC for the "win."
Per par.

I've had the same bad thoughts as the OP, Stern's gift to basketball is these WWE style predictions.

I'm hoping you're right. I still think Heat and Spurs got one more run in them before letting OKC and Pacers duke it out.

hint: Miami losing the first game doesn't mean they're losing the series. And cut out the "rigging" bullshit anyways...if the NBA rigged their series, why would we have Finals like San Antonio/New Jersey. In 2009, they could've simply rigged the ECF so that LeBron's Cavs advanced and played Kobe's Lakers. Ratings would've been huge. But instead they chose for Orlando to win...lol.
Some Spurs fans are ridiculous. Do superstars get the benefit of the doubt with foul calls? Sure. Can refs favor a certain team at times? Sure. But I'm not buying this "NBA picks and chooses who advances and wins" bullshit.

lol the Pacers put everything they had in that one game. they are getting gentleman swept tbh

Re: Looks like Miami is in trouble. Which means Spurs are in trouble.
Miami's nowhere near in trouble. Heat in 6 at the worst.
-
Re: Looks like Miami is in trouble. Which means Spurs are in trouble.
Miami didn't even show up today. I guess they thought Indy is gonna look like Atlanta series team.

Re: Looks like Miami is in trouble. Which means Spurs are in trouble.
Indiana has the strangest boner for Miami. This will be a long series. I expect Miami to prevail, but the Pacers are going to take their pound of flesh.
-
Re: Looks like Miami is in trouble. Which means Spurs are in trouble.
Let's be honest, if the Pacers don't play like that every game, they won't win this series. We all know the Pacers most likely won't play like that every game. Good luck to them, though.

If you think the game is rigged, why the F to do you bother to watch it. You apparently already know the outcome.
-
Re: Looks like Miami is in trouble. Which means Spurs are in trouble.
I don't remember our fans being quite this paranoid about getting jobbed by officials before. The Spurs will win the series if they earn the win. The refs will not change the outcome.
-
Re: Looks like Miami is in trouble. Which means Spurs are in trouble.
Just because a team loses a playoff game doesn't mean they are in trouble...especially on the road.
-
Re: Looks like Miami is in trouble. Which means Spurs are in trouble.
What's with all the rah-rah-rah pep talk for the Heat? FUCK those assholes. Whoever wins that series is whoever the fuck wins that series. Would I like to get revenge on Miami? Of course. But winning a Championship is winning a motherfucking Championship. So let's cut it with the Miami dick-sucking fest here.

Miami is in no more trouble than Indy was against Washington. If they lose Game Two, though, it could be something. If the Heat win on Tuesday, conversely, I don't see how they DON'T win.
-
Re: Looks like Miami is in trouble. Which means Spurs are in trouble.
Heat win game 2, mission accomplished. Miami's ringing again in '14.
Unfortunately.

I'd have to agree with you Jim on clear cut wins and losses with wide margins of error, however there are instances where wins and losses are not so clear cut and the margin of error is very narrow, and in those instances a possession call can make all the difference in the world. It's easy to say after a loss that the game could have been played better and the questionable calls wouldn't factor in, but they do factor in because both teams are good and both teams make mistakes. If the margin of error favors them because of officiating, you're already playing from behind.
So, another way to take your comment is to see it as "if we start down 10 points and play the right way, we should win".
-

Suffice it to say their reasons may be more complicated than you comprehend, but one good reason is it would provide just enough of a counter-example for shallow thinkers to point to as evidence that it is "impossible" that any rigging could ever be taking place.

Most people are saying its only one game, which is true. But some of those same people will be right back in here if Miami wins game 2 pulling the :lmao card saying I told Miami was gonna win the series, even though its just one game.
-
Re: Looks like Miami is in trouble. Which means Spurs are in trouble.
Miami isn't in trouble until they lose a home game, then, yes, they are.
That being said, that series has nothing to do with ours. It doesn't mean we're in trouble or that we won't be. It has nothing to do with us.
-
Re: Looks like Miami is in trouble. Which means Spurs are in trouble.
Spurs match up well with either team. Even with no Ibaka, Spurs match up worse with OKC. If the Spurs win the WCF, I would be willing to bet on the Spurs no matter who the finals opponent is.

Miami is on the road and the Spurs are at home for game one, if the Spurs lose game 1 they are in way more trouble than the Heat losing game 1 on the road! NO Comparison at all.

Re: Looks like Miami is in trouble. Which means Spurs are in trouble.
Well they have to win 4 of a possible 6 as we know, but unless Bron broke a leg I still like their chances.

Indiana can take this series. I don't see miami playing with as much desire anymore and Indiana has enough to get past miami this year.

IF the Spurs play like they did against the Mavs in Game 7 and Portland in Games 1-3, 5, the Spurs will win this Series regardless what the refs do. That of course unless we have another game 3 and 4 like the Mav '06 series where they shot 99 fts over two games. But since the Donaghy incident, I have failed to witness such a blatant display of BS favoritism (cheating more like it) by the refs.
Yes, they still do it in spurts but not on that Scale anymore. Just like they try in Game 1 against the Spurs in the 3rd quarter. After about 6-7 minutes of it, they stopped. Before it would have carried on til the end of the game.

Exactly. If Miami wins the 2nd, we are gonna have the defending champion, with HCA.
Lets wait and see what happens...

Re: Looks like Miami is in trouble. Which means Spurs are in trouble.
The cHeat are 16-3 after losing game 1 tbh
-
Re: Looks like Miami is in trouble. Which means Spurs are in trouble.
I could actually see the heat struggling this series. Indiana looks galvanized and outside of LeBron I don't see anyone on the Heat team who is playing well. Bosh has fallen off and Wade looks at the end of his tether. Going to be tough for them to beat Indy let alone the Spurs in the Finals.
-
Re: Looks like Miami is in trouble. Which means Spurs are in trouble.
How are the Heat in trouble after game 1? They'd only be in trouble if they also lost game 2. . .and game 3 or 4.
The Pacers aren't that good.

No. The NBA always find the way to make the show.
If the Finals are MIA-SAS again, they'll promote that like "The champions rematch" "Two teams destined to meet in the Finals"
If OKC-IND they'll say "Young Blood battling for the Glory"
If MIA-OKC "The King vs the MVP" "MVPs throne"...
Even if IND-SAS "The experience vs the Talent" "Duncan and Parker vs their apprentices..." "The rising Stars war..PG vs Sugar K" (well, maybe not the last) but...I really can see some stuff about Duncan/Hibbert and Parker as Hill's mentor...
-
Re: Looks like Miami is in trouble. Which means Spurs are in trouble.
The refs screw job thing, after seeing the Nets get jobbed to give the heat advantages toward the end of two games, we wonder about aging superstars getting respect in regards to calls. I understand one call can be missed but in both games it was 3 or 4 on both sides of the ball. All would have been fine as either fouls or no calls, but it has to be consistant on both ends it cant be no calls when the other team has the ball and fouls when the heat do.
-

Losing one on the road at the beginning is alot better than dropping the game one at home, you basically lose HC and have to go get it back. You do have the same road and home games left if it goes 7 though you are correct. You essentially have to get back that HC though as I said.
Good win.

Most want OK City over the Spurs.
They want to see Durant and James, the top two players in the league in the finals.

Pacers play better on the road, they'll close this out 4-1
