Ken Mauer, Ron Garretson and Ed Malloy are the refs tonight.
Any thoughts anyone?

IMO whoever wins tonight wins the series

Re: 2014 Western Conference Finals-Game 2- Oklahoma City Thunder @ San Antonio Spurs
I hate that officiating crew tbh, especially Malloy.

Re: 2014 Western Conference Finals-Game 2- Oklahoma City Thunder @ San Antonio Spurs
yea, I'm not much on Malloy myself. And my question about Mauer is which Mauer is gonna show up? He is resolute in whatever way he is calling the game, but he can just as easily decide to go for one team as another, and it is impossible to guess which it will be.
I kinda expect Malloy to put Leonard in foul trouble early.

Re: 2014 Western Conference Finals-Game 2- Oklahoma City Thunder @ San Antonio Spurs
Malloy ugh. Leonard will pick up 3 quick fouls.

There's worse referee crews out there.
The 205+ O/U I think it's interesting. Apparently Mauer, Corbin and Garretson have been involved in low scoring games more than high scoring games, which you could read as letting players get away with more on defense. That could be good and bad, depending how you want to read it. (less OKC freebies but letting them get away with more on D). As usual, if the Spurs can get the ball into the basket, the ref crew shouldn't matter.

Re: 2014 Western Conference Finals-Game 2- Oklahoma City Thunder @ San Antonio Spurs
In these playoffs, Home - Visitor winning percentage:
Mauer: 56% - 44%
Malloy: 44% - 56%
Garretson: 50% - 50%

Well, agreed. Any crew that sports Tony Brothers is worse than any others, imo. But I do think that Mauer can be a strong influence on the other two. I just never know how he's gonna go. Last game I did think that Danny Crawford was a good influence on the other two. Didn't agree with him all the time but truly felt that he didn't have an agenda, and that is really about all I can hope for these days.

Doesn't surprise me about Malloy. And what that tells me overall is that it is a toss-up tonight.

So...56% one way and then 56% the other way so that cancels out. The other ref is 50% so the Spurs have a 50% chance of winning lol.

Don't care about the refs, let's just win tonight!

I wouldn't put too much weight into those numbers. These playoffs have been pretty wonky when it comes to home vs. road success. Road teams have been having lots of success throughout the playoffs, and I wouldn't say that's due to officiating. Just one of those years.
Wizards were 5-1 on the road in the playoffs
Pacers are 5-1 on the road
OKC is 4-2 on the road
IIRC, the home/road records are almost equal in these playoffs. In the first round, the road teams were actually over .500.

Re: 2014 Western Conference Finals-Game 2- Oklahoma City Thunder @ San Antonio Spurs
Wouldn't be surprised to see the Spurs shit the bed tonight for a good chunk of the game due to overconfidence and poor shooting. Without Ibaka though, it probably won't matter.

I saw this gif a bunch of times now, and I guess on the 100th viewing I finally took my eyes off Tiago going incredible hulk, and noticed the MVP turning into the Karate Kid
