Not sure if posted, but there's a one day trial of the Summer League Pass at NBA.com, and you can re-watch tonight's game if you missed it.

Re: 2014 Spurs Summer League Thread
Positives: Anderson's and Daye's poise. Both looked like NBA players from a mental standpoint.
Cotton's aggression: He knows timidity won't get him a spot on the team.
Denmon's defense: He struggled to start the game when it came to guarding his man. His help defense was fine. He made good rotations and even protected the rim.
Negatives:
Anderson's defense. It was never really good. Some of that was physical, but a good deal was lack of effort. He wasn't enough of a plus on offense to counteract his D.
Daye's shot: Hope it gets better. He's a natural shooter, so I think it will.
Denmon's PG skills: He didn't even try to run the offense.
Everyone else's defense.
Ayres.

Re: 2014 Spurs Summer League Thread
Happy with Anderson, he didnt wanna do too much and played decent. He is slow but gets the job done.
Daye couldnt hit a 3 but those shots were open, so i expect him to shoot much better. Also his shooting form is a little different, probably worked with Chip.
Errors still cant catch the ball and for a 4 year vet he pretty much sucks.
Cotton was good. Played under control and did show that he can shoot.
Denmon is a ballhog and is inconsistent. For 5 minutes he looks pretty good and then the other 5 he sucks cause of his size. He dis play good D so thats a plus.
Thomas was there just to be Bowen on offense. He can shoot but didnt have the ball as much as last year.
Morris looked good, but he also looked good in the nba for the Lakers. To me he looks like Denmon just with better size and more athletic.

I am sorry but if your 5 for 18 you can't fucking shoot.

Re: 2014 Spurs Summer League Thread
Kyle Anderson, San Antonio Spurs | Grade: B
Can Slow-Mo work in the NBA? Anderson enters summer league as one of the most intriguing prospects in Vegas. Watching him in his first game, you could see what you wanted to see. At times, he was a little slow to dribble by his man. At others, he found space and when he did that, he always seemed to find an open teammate. He made arguably his best play of the game driving baseline, pulling in a help defender and kicking to an unguarded Marcus Denmon for a corner 3. That’s Anderson: polarizing, but always fluid.

Re: 2014 Spurs Summer League Thread
^ Yeah I didn't watch until the end but he looked like a baller, especially early when they ran everything through him... The defense is a bit concerning but if he stays around that weight he's probably gonna be fighting with Beli for minutes so not exactly a DPOY battle...
Errors must have some mental issues, not sure if it's the name change or the move to SA but it's not normal for him to be so bad :(...

Re: 2014 Spurs Summer League Thread
Anderson will fit right in with the offense. He left a couple shots short last night, not sure if that was just nerves or a sign of something else. Definitely liked the poise and passing ability.
If not for the lack of roster spots I'd have Thomas down to take one of the IR spots.
Liked what I saw of Cotton. Not sure about Denmon, he killed the motion quite a few times.
Depending on what happens in free agency one would think the Ayres/Pendergraph experiment will end at some point.

By all means, look at one game instead of 14 games where he shot 41% from behind the arc. By your reckoning, Steve Kerr can't shoot. He went 2-12 one time from 3. Instead of making a bolded statement to show the conviction in your mathematics, how about a wager? I say that Daye shoots closer to 41% for the regular season from the 3 point line this year than he does to 17%, which is what he shot tonight, from the three point line. We take his regular season 3 point percentage, find the two differences, whichever is greater, loses. Let's make something good out of your irrational thoughts and feelings, namely profit for myself.

14 games is an extremely small sample as well... He shot only 29 threes... And I was 0 for 8 with Toronto before the trade so technically his regular season % was actually 32%...

So what is better a small small sample? Or a larger small sample? I don't care about the shots in Toronto. He no longer plays in Toronto.

And, technically, I never referenced his regular season shooting percentage, technically, except in reference to the UPCOMING regular season in which his percentage is, as of yet, unknown, technichally.
Technically.

Well it helps to have played hundreds of games together instead of a couple of walk through practices, not to mention rookie nervousness.

Daye in the post - Shot was off but he looked great in the post. Won't be able to do it against starters in the NBA, but he might against backups and 3rd string scrubs. Could help the team eventually.
Cotton creating for himself - he doesn't look comfortable running the team, but he looks good creating for himself. Can shoot off screens, off the dribble, 3s. He is a small SG much like Mills.
Didn't like the others. Denmon was easily the biggest disappointment. Selfish, terrible shot selection, can't run the team at all.
Can't even call Ayres a disappointment because we all know that he is terrible. SA is wasting a roster spot and money with him.
im going to take a wild guess that DA is suppose to be KA for Kyle Anderson?
