McRae is a top 5 best player in the summer league, are you sorry RC trade him away for that euro trash?

Re: 2014 Spurs Summer League Thread
I haven't seen all the games all the way through but my impression of the SL roster is that none of them are going to be able to step right in to a regular rotation spot with the exception of Ayres (since he was used pretty frequently to give our bigs some rest last year0 if he isn't traded or something. Daye will probably be back as well.
Of all the rookies and new guys, All of them have SOME skills or they wouldn't be playing at this level, but there aren't any with skills that aren't countered by some problems in another area. I'd bring Green to camp for more evaluation to see if they can work on his shot and defense. Cotton and Morris maybe as practice fodder. They'll give Anderson a long look and he'll probably stick.
Just my impressions.

not in the slightest.
you can't expect to ever get anything from a 2nd rounder. The best thing you can do is learn to trust in the spurs midas touch. McRae will be riding sixer pine into oblivion. meanwhile, draft rights spurs are gaining real experience, getting more physically dominant, affording the spurs the opportunity to play Beli/Cotton, and roster guys like Bonner/Ayers. Get with it!

This schtick has run it's course, and it wasn't that funny to begin with tbqh, fwiw, etc....

Re: 2014 Spurs Summer League Thread
Looking forward to the game on Saturday. Each of these games adds another opportunity for KA, Daye and Ayres to show signs and get work in.

the message was very much specifically targeted kobyz so i'm interested in your feedback, but don't worry about my "schtick" too much.
speaking of comedy and truth, or the absence of. temple of spurs. Does God listen? What good are our collective efforts? who am i, who are you? I think aiming to get Baynes qualifying offer rescinded should be our miracle target. We need an open spot! and we're good with Ayers and Bonner. Ayers is the new Bonner, call it a huntch. He's already been around for a championship, i think he needs a lifetime contract.

Who on this roster needs more pt in your opinion?

He did basically the same with Daye. Gave them both a minute or three rest, then back in to close it out. When you're up by only two with 2:49 (using Chump's numbers, I think) to go and your coach puts you in for the rest of the game, that's called crunchtime playing time. Don't let bias/hate and cognitive dissonance fool ya.

KA needs all the reps he can get to get familiar with the speed of the game and it's good they are having a deeper run because he can go from NCAA, Summer League, Camp, Preseason and then Spurs/Toros stints and get up to speed at the NBA level. I really can't wait to see what Chip does to speed up that shot, he pulls the ball too far back in my opinion and he cocks his head back which can easily be adjusted and speed up his shot and increase his accuracy.
Ayres needs to work with as many PGs as possible, he needs touches, try to figure out how to catch the ball comfortably and from there who cares, as long as he's not giving up possessions I'm okay with him on offense.. Defense.. well that's another story.
The rest of the guys, meh... Cotton maybe should get some consideration at his potential, Morris and Green with NBA experience but this is all about the Spurs evaluating the talent that is in house and if someone shows signs well they'll get a look.

Every minute!!! The Starters this, The Starters that...wow...Kmon! Ive seen the show...is average at best.
Is it average? If that's the case, then TV has been slipping. It's mildly interesting, and at least they talk about basketball. As a borderline-rabid NBA fan I find it pretty meh.

Ayress barely played 20 minutes the all game and he needed rest?

Was better before the move to NBA TV during the Basketball Jones podcast days - could be a little more risky with the content. Now I listen to it only when there's nothing else on my iPhone.

It's a good show, the hosts all know what they're talking about without any bias. The Australian guy routinely shits on everyone when they're wrong.

No one played 30 minutes. I don't see your point. He got pulled out for a quick blow, 1-2 minutes, just like Daye, then put back in rested to close out the game. It's not that complicated.

Re: 2014 Spurs Summer League Thread
For me summer league is over no one made me all giddy and happy......Only weird thing was seeing seasoned Vets playing who didn't put up big numbers as they should have.
All I can say is that Errors needs to be let go not only is he terrible on offense but he is worse on defense.
Daye he is just a 14th bench player only good thing he does is rebound I understand why his career is trending down. But can' ask a lot from your 14th player on the team.
Anderson will spend most of his time in the D-League with Cotton and Green.
