We might be able to do it, but I sure as heck NEVER want to try!
45-37, 7th or 8th seed, out in the first round.
Thanks a lot. The season is now over because of that comment. :pctossQuote:

I remember when that happened right before the playoffs once and everyone had to hope for the best with Samaki Walker...with less than desirable results.
With the current team, HB22inSA may be correct...Oberto would help but no way do the Spurs get very far. The KC Kings got all the way to the Conf. Finals and beat a very good Phoenix team with a bunch of fry-cooks and custodians...but that was a rare deal.
I don't mean to imply at all that the rest of our team is not awesome- all our guys are! It is just that Timmy makes everyone so much better- not only by his on court contributions but with his frienship/ leadership.
Making the playoffs is easy... Getting to the Finals is the hard part...
I think the spurs could get slots 8-6 without Duncan if they had a good season and a good replacement for him. But another ring? .. I would doubt it.
Spurs would get the 7-8 spot at best
In the east, maybe. But not in the west. We were about a .5 team without Tim. And we weren't even playing very good teams at that point. It took us 2 overtimes to beat the Wizzards and the Clippers (I think). While those two wins really showed the team's heart, it was still the Clips and the Wizards. Even if Tim isn't scoring, he opens up the floor for our guys like nobody else.
AHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA.. Thanks ICE3000!!
You've just jinxed yer team.. Woooohoooooo!!
Someone bookmark this tread.
:lmao
That would mean our starting PF would be Horry and Oberto as his backup (at this point). No way do we make it to the playoffs. The only reason Ginobili and Bowen are able to go hog wild on the perimiter is because they trust their interior defense. That same trust wouldn't be there, so a weaker defense causes a 5-10 game swing. And the only reason our outside game gets open looks is becuase of our interior offense. So there is another 10-15 game swing. Thats a 15-25 game swing. I say we finish just under .500. And definitely no playoffs. But a mid round draft pick. Oh crap, we traded that to NY.
But we have RASHO!!!!....Oh wait.........

TD plays so low to the ground now a days that he should (hope, hope), suffer only twisted ankles, if he gets hurt at all. He was never a high flyer but he did have some nice hops Pre-2000.
My favorite sig. of all time is "Complacency sucks." Please claim this sig. if it's yours.
TD strikes me as a very steady person. I think he is going to show up and show us all something special. He will prove, without a doubt, that he is a top five player in history.
We'd be like the Warriors except better.
Spurs would run more. They'd still have a lot of talent and would easily make the playoffs.
We will be in the lottery and get greg oden, then we have this all over again :D:D
Pretty sure that was Ghost.Quote:

On topic, I think the Spurs would struggle to make the playoffs. Memphis were the 8 seed last season, do you think the Spurs would be as good as them. Tough call.
This thread sucks, and Kori should delete in an attempt to appease the mojo gods.
On a more long-term note, what will our team be like when Duncan retires? That thought wakes me up in the middle of the night. David Robinson may have saved the franchise, but Tim took them to that extra level. We as Spurs fans may not want to think about that, but I don't know how many more chances we will have for "lightning bolt" lottery players like Robinson or Duncan. Players like that don't come very often and are special because they are so rare. I think Charles Barkley said once,"You know, we are going to really miss Tim Duncan when he is gone and we are going to feel bad that we never fully appreciated him."
Dude, get some rest, enjoy life, and start worrying about that somewhere around 2011 :lolQuote:

Had we not gotten David in the draft, we would of really stunk and the team would of been gone long ago as well. We're kinda lucky.
If we had Scola no problem, but without a decent presence like TD's we would probably make it to the western conference finals
