Re: Thomas agreet to offer sheet from Suns
What did Phoenix give up for Thomas?
Re: Thomas agreet to offer sheet from Suns
As curious a signing as it is a good vale for 20 PPG, 6 APG as a starter.
Frye wasn't worth what he got, and Hayward isn't worth the Max, but I hated losing Hawes. Younger, cheaper Frye with better recovery speed.
Feels like "asset" acquisition. Suns just signed a poor-mans Lillard at 7+ per year. That'll be worth a few 1sts in time to somebody. Once Bledsoe/Tucker are re-signed the CAP space available only this season would be gone. So use it wisely, bring in young talent, give yourself outs/options, and don't waste opportunities.

Alex Oriahki and trade exception from Butler-to-Milwaukee trade last summer.
Re: Thomas agreet to offer sheet from Suns
There have been far worse signings than Thomas in this off-season, tbh, not a bad move from Phoenix at all..
7 mil is pretty good in this year's market for one of the best "heat check" scorers in the league, a guy that could be a great 6th man..

So basically nothing.
Re: Thomas agreet to offer sheet from Suns
Strangely, the Kings chose to pay Darren Collison to be their starting point guard instead of Isaiah.

You can't have a 5'9" starting point guard, X. It's untenable. Even off the bench it's impossible.

The Kings franchise has been anti-Isiah Thomas for years, tbh..I know it was widely discussed in fantasy circles when everybody drafted Thomas and the Kings refused to start him until last season:lol..

Because he's too damn short. They wasted their time and finally accepted that fate. Now it'll take the Suns 3 years to come to same damn conclusion. You can't play in the NBA at 5'9.
Re: Thomas agreet to offer sheet from Suns
Hopefully Cousins didn't ruin him.

His genes did that, Suns withstanding.

I agree from a starting perspective..I think he's really solid as the lead scorer off the bench, though..
If Phoenix is looking to start him, then ya, I don't like the signing..

Patty Mills disagrees. He's 5'11" and played a huge role for the champions.
Collison is a downgrade from Isaiah, there's no two ways about it.

Nate Robinson being an exception with a few others I'm sure. He has incredible athleticism for his size and his jumpshot and court vision will only get better. I would be excited if I'm a Suns fan.

"We" couldn't stop the Suns with a gun. They're gonna do this and we'll be absolutely inundated with the cute & quaint stories about the little train who could. "It's not the size of the man but the size of the heart." on & on.
They'll brazen out like they always do.

I am excited. No James for them. No Love for them. O & half-a-100 for them.
