Beli can't be a third-string PG. He's be awful doing it for more than a possession or so. The Spurs like resting their older players, so Parker is going to sit some nights. They'll need more than one active PG for those games.

That would require a buyout. Denmon isn't worth the trouble.

that's the stupid price of the stupid draft and stash game. roster the prospects you draft. RC should be on hoarders. He doesn't even want all the junk he piles up. why not trade for junk you can actually use?

Calling Denmon a prospect is a stretch. That kind of junk has already been signed and can be signed any time of the season.
Re: Spurs sign Josh Davis
Now that I think about it, I don't think Davis would fit in that well with the Spurs. San Diego State plays with a real grit-and-grind mentality, crashing the boards, posting up, and scoring off of hustle plays. And Josh Davis was the leader in doing all of that for them.
But the Spurs don't crash the boards, they get back in transition (Pop particularly stresses this) so Davis wouldn't get many offensive rebounds unless they were tip-backs. And the kind of nasty play that Davis employs just isn't allowed in the NBA anymore. He wouldn't be allowed to go beast-mode, and that's really his only strength as he possesses no offensive game whatsoever.
So now that I think about it, a 6'8 forward who hustles but has no offensive game is not really what we need. He's a niche guy all the way with a limited skill set, and the Spurs want players that are versatile and have multiple skill sets (like all teams do, which is probably why Davis wasn't drafted). So this signing is....pointless. Oh well. Doesn't matter because JaMychal Green is MUCH better anyway. We'll sign him and be happy.
Re: Spurs sign Josh Davis
JaMychal Green is the type of player that I've after athletically, but if you really watched the summer league, you'll see that he doesn't have that much of a game. He made some great athletic plays and hustled his ass off at times, but unfortunately, that was about it. His jumper wasn't good and his defense wasn't great either IMO. I appreciated his hustle and effort, but I don't think that will be enough to make the team.
If he were to get a jumpshot and also really improve his defense, he might have a real chance.

The funny thing is that you could say this about half the SL prospects and it would still hold true.

I follow SDSU a little. Josh Davis was a BEAST on the boards and on D. He doesn't have an offensive game (at all), but he's a juggernaut otherwise. I'm surprised he wasn't picked up by some other team.
Unfortunately our roster is nearly full and there's a competition between Baynes, JaMychal Green, and Bryce Cotton for the 15th roster spot. There's no way Josh Davis is going to beat out all 3 of those guys, though I do believe Baynes will sign elsewhere eventually.
It is a shame we can't give up dead weight Ayres and call it a day and keep him then, Ayres is a beast at nothing it seems.

Well he can clap with his ring on way the fuck out of town for all I care...... I saw Patty towel wave and atleast thought from what I saw he had potential to score in spurts, Ayres who can't even catch a ball or dunk at times it seems when open is just useless to me. I still wonder why they signed the bum? Pop listened to his assistant.

Huh? Are you talking about Malcolm Thomas? He doesn't have cornrows. Neither does anyone else from SDSU in the NBA.

No they didn't. Davis only played 1 year at SDSU.

My guess is he's thinking of the bulls player, drafted a couple years back, that looks like Kawhi? I think his last name is Snell, or whatever..
