Actually, France needs to perform well at Euro's in order to qualify for the Olympics.
That's why he intended to be there from the beginning (2015 & 2016).

True but the fact it is at home is a complementary factor knowing this generation is talented enough to qualify for Olympics without TP but I see your point.

Well, it's new for me. I assumed that he would play in the Olympics but didn't know about his intentions to play in 2015, too.
I thought that there was a Spurs unwritten rule about no play international tournaments in consecutive years (plus Tony's age and injury-prone) but obviously I was wrong.
I was really happy when Tony, Manu and Kawhi decided to rest this summer, now the possibility of playing the next two years worries me.
You know, without rest decreases the chances of stay healthy.
Edit. I know Boris played all years all cups for France, I mean Tony/Manu.
